The new Deerhunter album is so stupid good. For some reason though I just do not care about seeing them live, especially at 2pm on the Wookie stage.

But you know that the 2pm wookie stage slot is reserved for woodsy baroque re-incarnations of Fleet Foxes, Arcade Fire, etc...

...unless your King Khan circa 2009, cause that was the shitz....

....Deerhunter would take the Nationals slot from last year, IMO

I hate the kind of hippies Cloud Cult are but about 40% of each of their records is pretty great. Musically. Lyirically they're just about as bad as it gets.

Well, you saw the bassist, right? So after the show backstage - well let's just say he got a little rough.

I have doubts that Deerhunter would get the National's spot... Broken Social Scene's spot, perhaps. Or a late afternoon Wookie/Big Foot a-la The XX

Why not? They played at Coachella last year and were amazing.

i just don't see them drawing well at a festival like sasquatch. coachella has a lot more people and a lot more variety in the genres of artists they have. a prog rock band with metal tendencies would be instantly thrown out of the mix by sasquatch organizers.

I agree with you. Although Porcupine Tree is a fucking fantastic band and I would love to see them play Sasquatch! If they played a lot of their earlier shit they could probably pull it off...

Yea they would be a lot better received by the people who are unfamiliar with their music if they played a bunch of their back-catalog and more of the recent mellow stuff. Ever since Wilson buddied up with Michael Akerfeldt though, their sound has been much heavier and would definitely not be well received in front of the Sasquatch indie kids.
