Actually, even through all these posts I had some respect for Kanye. Then the vice president of AC Entertainment talked about the Bonnaroo boner and I lost all of it.

Who said this? That is pretty funny.

You said Kanye should be a role model because of his celebrity status. Kanye is a rapper. I know you are not saying 100% of rappers have to be role models, but in this specific example, you are saying Kanye, the rapper, should.

Having a lot of Kanye's lyrics memorized, I never thought, "you know, I want my daughter to date someone like Kanye. He seems like he has really solid values."

Thus me thinking the correlation is funny.

Allow me to clarify. I am saying that Kanye IS a role model, not that he should be. As a parent I'm sure you appreciate the difference. Believe me, if I had it my way he wouldn't be. I must have been sick that day.

The correlation is still funny, though.

Are you kidding? I want my daughters to learn the value of not being a gold digger... which is what I think the message of that song was.

What? Like I'm going to think someone who based their username off a Modest Mouse album will understand the meaning of a Kanye West track? You are sleepwalking through the allnight diner there I8.

Being the resident Kanye expert, I am more than willing to skool you to the real meaning of "Gold Digger." You can be a celebrity football player driving a Hyundai, and still bag a chick who fucked with Usher. Don't underestimate the sex appeal of a 10 year warranty.

First-world problems: Deciding whether to respond to this with a snarky and assholish original thought, a HATERS GON' HATE meme, a U MAD meme, a GET OUT meme...

Pitchfork goes back and changes their review scores of albums once they are regarded as classics. 10.0 means essentially nothing.

BINGO.

Just went to check one my favorite bit of revisionist history: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea got an 8.7 in 1998 and a 10.0 in 2005.

This wasn't a re-release, though. They almost never give 10s on first releases. Besides, it's not just Pitchfork: every single fucking review (hyperlinks ahoy) of this album have been overwhelmingly positive. Even Chris Weingarten (link), who is essentially the east coast amalgam of interstate and hornedgramma, loved this album. This isn't a Pitchfork thing. This is a music media establishment thing.
