I liked the 10 minutes of Skrillex I saw after The Decemberists.

The crowd was shit during Skrillex, at least inside the tent. The mass of people surrounding the outside was fun enough though. I have a million things to say about him, but at least in between the last time I saw him and Sasquatch he learned how to mix. When I saw him in January he couldn't even beatmatch, and he plays live with ableton, which does that for you.

I also enjoyed dancing like a freak for like 7 minutes to some Skrillex.

I'm just not a dub step fan, several of my friends are though so I put up with it a lot but I just could not stand being at Skrillex. It was a combination of how !!! just blew my mind, the fact that Skrillex looks like a lesbian and that the mushrooms were starting to wear off. I stood there for like 3 songs and just shook my head, then I looked around at the crowd and decided that i did not belong there. Luckily Deerhunter was just a few hundred yards away and playing the music that catered most to my state of mind. I did all my freak dancing (I mean dancing like a freak) at !!!, I was over it.

Top 5:

1. Bassnectar - WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP
2. Chromeo - Sexy fuckin dance party
3. Matt & Kim - Such a great party. I didn't know how it was possible to have more of a crush on Kim. Plus all the mid 90's hip hop interludes were awesome.
4. Foo Dr. Garbanzohters - amazing
5. MSTRKRFT - the tent was rocking. The dudes totally killed it.

Biggest disappointments: Flaming Lips and Foster the People (the sound was AWFUL)

I actually really enjoyed Skrillex. I was along the outside of the tent and people were going freaking crazy (including Friendly and Souly!).

No. It didn't. AT ALL. If you actually know how his songs go from start to finish then you would have known that he mixed the FUCK out of them for this set. It was the best Skrillex set I've ever seen and has made me a fan again. Everything I hated about his live performance has been improved on significantly and he played absolutely flawlessly.

Oh, and you should have been watching me, because I didn't have a problem dancing to his "stuff" at all.

THIS.

And yea, I never stepped foot inside the dance tent (except for the last half of MSTRKRFT when we moved into the front left). The outside back area in front of the Red Bull thing was an amazing place to get your boogey on.

I had a fucking dream I was at a giant house party at my grandparent's old house last night and we somehow got Matt and Kim to put on a set there. Thats how much I fucking loved their set. They are right behind Modest as my favorite of the weekend.

Local Natives was also absolutely great; we had a good dance party in the pit for them and their mustachioed greatness.

!!! had everybody dancing and that guy was cracking me up.

Modest Mouse - Finally got my chance to see them and was blown away. Made staying in the pit area since Cold War Kids with no bathroom breaks or water refills worth it.

!!! - I didn't think Chromeo's sexy dance party would be topped. I was wrong.

Sharron Jones - I would make babies with that woman.

Flogging Molly - Made me feel like I was 20 again

Against Me! - Great way to start the festival

Honorable mentions:

Chromeo - would be top 5 but their set was exactly the same as Coachella
Cold War Kids - Sounded great. Did the CCR song justice.
GBV - still got it

Bassnectar and Sleigh Bells tie for first
Chromeo/Major Lazer/Matt and Kim tie for second
Macklemore
Flogging Molly
Dj Anjali and The Incredible Kid, 5 times.

Biggest disappointment, Skrillex. The way he plays music makes me want to punch an infant.

To be totally fair I was hardly paying attention. I still dont have anything against the guy, but I have no interest in seeing him live. Kudos for enjoying it, I wasnt trying to bring you down, just not my thing. That being said, I dont do 'Molly', so that might be an issue, but I'm sure people not on high drugs enjoyed it too.

I was so depressed (but sort of happy because I got a better spot) when practically everyone left after Skrillex and missed Major Lazer. I mean, its fucking Diplo for fucks sake.
