 Deadmau5 - 25 minute set...
« Thread Started on May 6, 2010, 7:10pm »

I'm just surprised, not sure if that is a typo (unlikely), but you'd think Deadmau5 would play for an hour. It must be due to the county noise curfew... They could always move him into the Rupus Room for a 10-11pm set, but the organizers will certainly not cater to my two cents alone.
Apparently, the lighting will be quite similar to that of Daft Punk back in 2006.

Definitely not accurate. The website gives Booka Shade the same 11:30-11:55 time slot the next night, but there is no way these acts will be so short. I expect something more like 11:30-12:30.

Thanks for responding - respectfully. I reckon that if this was the Coachella board, I'd be mutilated already by the swarm of Coachella Junkies.

Anyway, that makes sense, since they wouldn't have Deadmau5 or Booka Shade on the Bigfoot unless they were well-known or had a reasonably large following. If they didn't meet either of those criteria, they'd probably be in the Rupus Room... probably.

It will be more than that I'm sure. Headliners don't really have set end times other than the 2 AM noise curfew, so I'm guessing both Deadmau5 and Booka Shade will play until at least 12:15 or 12:30.

Also, the Sasquatch page is full of typos. Every :05 is written as :50, and there were a few others that I can't think of at the moment.

Good to know! Oh, and your comment regarding MMJ playing a 2.5 hour set was also encouraging. I was flipping over the times given for Massive Attack ( 1hr 15 minutes... wtf), but then after reading your comment, I gradually calmed down and began taking deep breaths, since MA should not be stopped after an hour and a bit... So thanks for your prior knowledge re: curfews and set times!

That's a cool pic! Not overly familiar with the music but judging from vids i've seen of Deadmau5 it looks like quite the light show...similar to Daft Punk. Am I right or wrong on that assumption? If I'm right then I may have to check his set out.

I have to be honest though, I'm not a fan of this type (dance, DJ, Etc.) of music but if a cool light show accompanies the music then it's worth checking out.

Get this: the company/artists that designed Daft Punk's last Alive tour is the same 'company'/ artists that have designed Deadmau5's lightshow! If you dig lights, Deadmau5 will be fantastic.

As well, check out Massive Attack the next day. Basically the same deal, except not only will the lights for Massive Attack be great, their music is actually really worth checking out: Girl I Love You, Live With Me, Mezzanine (track, and album), Eurochild, What Your Soul Sings

Right on! I wasn't aware that it was the same comapny that designed Daft Punk's Alive tour (which I had the privilege of seeing), so now I know that I will check out Deadmau5 for sure.

I am very familiar with Massive Attack and am under the impression that their show will be a spectacle on all levels, visually and musically. Mezzanine is a great CD...loads of passion!

The sasquatch website has deadmau5 only playing a 25 minutes set as well..

On the deadmau5 page..11:30pm to 11:55pm

That would be ridiculous if they are making the late night shows only 25 minutes.

there's no way that is the real time. deadmau5 will have one of the biggest crowds of the weekend. not a chance he will be on for such a short set.

This is only speculation but I imagine they put 11:55pm because putting 12:00am or later would have them end on the following day. Perhaps this logistical issue would mess around with their schedule template on the Sched.com website, which lists the bands by day.

I had the same suspicion. If this is the only bug they need to work out before posting the fraking schedule I'll be pissed. At this point I don't think they can come up with an excuse that would satisfy me though.
