I agree 100% then. Only time will tell between the National and Bon Jovi though. I'm still convinced he pulled a Milli Vanilli with the high pitched vocals at the end.
I wonder which version LT prefers?

Finally heard High Violet, pretty damn amazing. Easily their best album to me, though Alligator is like an "Emotional Time Machine" for me and will always win out on a different level. I think with the addition of High Violet, a tour consisiting of Alligator, Boxer and High Violet material is as well fucking rounded of a set list as any band could hope for (especially if they dig back further as well).
If anyone is looking to hear more of High Violet kinda stuff, I would recomend
Tindersticks - 2nd and Curtains Pulp - This is Hardcore and We Love Life (lots of similarities in music and lyrics) Leonard Cohen - I am Your Man (Most people have heard of it, but go listen to it if you like the National) Scott Walker - Climate of Hunter

This is from their Letterman performance last night. I've been debating whether or not to leave their set half way through to catch part of The Very Best but let me just say if it's anything like this performance I will be GLUED to the stage for the whole set. Phenomenal...

Their live performances seem to be very much more intense. For instance the performance of Terrible Love on Jimmy Fallon is (at least for me) way better than the album version. I can say the same thing about this version of Afraid of Everyone. Regardless, the set at Sasquatch is going to be amazing. By far, my most anticipated show of the weekend.

I bet Sufjan comes with them and makes an appearance.
also, I completely agree about Terrible Love. The album version just sounds different from everything else on the album. Maybe the mix? I don't know. The live version ruined the album version for me.

If Sufjan Stevens comes to the festival solely to perform a song with The National, I will compensate everyone in this thread for their ticket price.

WHOO HOO! C'mon Sufjan!!!!
I agree about Terrible Love as well. It is one of the weaker songs on the disc. I was listening to a burned copy before I bought the CD and I thought it was the quality of the download...but the guitar work in the album version is just as shitty sounding. I think they were going for a loud sound but it ends up sounding murky and distorted.
