Tallest Man on Earth fans... « Thread Started on Mar 6, 2010, 3:58pm »
I was doing a little research and found out that Kristian Matsson (Tallest Man on Earth) is a singer of another band out of Sweden. Thought some of you would get a kick out of this video....NOTHING like his solo stuff but damn entertaining!

Hey is playing in Calgary a couple weeks before the festival with the Nurses. I'm definitely going to check it out. I dig this dude...and the Nurses are pretty sweet as well.

Just saw him over the weekend with The Nurses and the guy puts on an amazing show. Will be checking him out at the festival as well, hopefully he is just as good outdoors as he is in a bar. Played a great cover of Graceland which was a pleasant surprise, awesome guitar player.

Peatrick,
He closed his encore with that song in Vancouver.
I am a big fan of his, and so I was hugely excited to see him in Vancouver, at a small converted church which typically has fantastic sound, and where you actually sit in pews.
Funny side note, the venue didn't really have a back entrance, so Kristian had to enter in the front door of the building, and Dr. Garbanzoht through the first 50 people in line who were waiting for the venue to open.
Anyways, I thought the show was fantastic, his voice is very powerful. However I had one criticism. His accoustic guitar sounded too electric, and made many of his riffs sound very harsh (I can't really find a better word). Take a song like Burden of Tomorrow (one of my favs). the recorded version has a soft sounding, muted guitar, which was not apparent on the live version.
Maybe he needs a new amp, or maybe he likes it this way. Maybe I am the one sounding too harsh. I'll still be front and centre for his set at Sasquatch though.
