I think Travis from Ear Candy will have it pretty much covered... SasquatchTweet will probably post info too. I'll be there but my phone doesn't tweet.

The National would work great right before Pavement. They're doing a few shows together, and ever since someone said how cool it would be if The National played "So Far Around The Bend" that night it's something I've been hoping for.
By the same logic, Broken Social Scene, who is also doing shows with Pavement, would make sense.

The National and BSS just don't seem like sub-headliners to me but I could be wrong i suppose... past years have been Queens of the Stone Age, Modest Mouse and Yeah Yeah yeahs among others. Granted that a select few but still...

I'd buy this as well. When bands are touring together, they do tend to get paired. They did it with REM, Modest Mouse and the National two years ago I believe.

As stated earlier, The Postal Service IS a possibility, even if they said "im not doing any more postal service stuff. as far as the whole she & him thing goes, i think rilo kiley is more likely with the postal service. i wouldnt count on monsters of folk being at squatch. as for SONIC YOUTH, holy shit if they play i will pass out in a pool of my own jizzum...... and there is nothing ruling them out right now.

I don't know, I think if Postal Service randomly shows up out of the blue despite saying no more, Ben Gibbard's wife/fiance (I forget which) might be just as likely, and might even fill in for Jenny Lewis.

I know what your saying but I feel like monday (the day I'm really hoping pavement headlines) is a whole new ball game. I don't think The National is THAT much smaller than Erykah Badu or The Mars Volta, either way I'd def rather watch a set from The National than either of them.

Zooey Deschanel, of She & Him, which adds to the general incestuous pool of MMJ/M. Ward/Conor Oberst/what have you.
I think The Postal Service should stay in the Wishlist thread. I'd kill for it, but if Ben's going to make another appearance this year, I'd expect it to be in this order:
1.) With Jay Farrar, doing "One Fast Move..." 2.) With Death Cab, subheadlining -- or have they achieved headlining status? It sounds ridiculous, but they headlined at Bumbershoot a couple of years ago. 3.) Then maybe The Postal Service.

The year they headlined Bumbershoot they also subheadlined Sasquatch I believe, even if it was in support of the Cure. Death Cab is probably touring again later this year so I'd believe that before any of the rest. I don't see them doing a second date on the One Fast Move tour anywhere because of the nature of the material - if you saw the setlist for Seattle, I think there were no Death Cab or Son Volt covers (but I could be wrong), nor any of Gibbard's standbys for his solo work.

Like how Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, and Animal Collective were EVERYWHERE last year? There's certain bands that play every festival because it covers a bulk of touring or helps end touring before they head back to the studio. |
|
All three of those examples are American bands, so naturally they'd do American festivals. Phoenix is a French band doing a few foreign festivals, too. My problem isn't that bands don't do all the festivals, it's that foreign bands rarely spend their entire summer in the US just for festival gigs and US tours.
And while The Arcade Fire's booking agent may be listing avails for the porpoise of club bookings, I'm more concerned with what the agent ends up indicating by listing that date range than with what the agent means to indicate. My thought is that they're still working in the studio, and plan to be there beyond that original early-summer deadline they'd set for themselves. There's still a chance, I agree, but it's much slimmer than it appeared to be a few months ago.

Phoenix pretty much has to stay in the United States between Coachella and Bonnaroo, and have even indicated a few other American dates between April and June. They're even leaving America after Bonnaroo to head back to their home continent, I think, so it wouldn't be as if they're spending their whole summer here. Just April through June.

Last year I think Hockeys tour brought them to spokane, then paris, then to portland all within a week, it just depends on how they get booked and how much they will be paid to do a show overseas
