The Mars Volta followed by The Flaming Lips UFO Show...
That is definitely going to be the most trippy, fucked up, mind blowing 3 or 4 hours of my life. I cannot wait.
Lips were phenomenal in '06. I never thought I'd have another chance to see them again.

They're pretty amazing live... but the thing about TMV is you can't really expect them to sound ANYTHING like the albums. They improvise and jam A LOT. But musically they put on a beautiful show.

Cedric really needs to work on his live vocals though. Instrumentally they're magnificent, but Cedric really offsets the tone of the music when he's constantly singing out of pitch.

I'm a HUGE mars volta fan and even I must say that they are terrible live.
Their show is just one big jam session, with no structure or flow. Too bad, they could be really good live if they knew how to play for the audience and NOT for themselves on stage.
