So now that we've got our LineUp when do they usually release the schedule? Before or after tix go on sale? Also am I correct in understanding that there are no conflicts or overlaping shows?

Bands are on different stages at the same time. If you listen hard enough, you can hear them.

From past experience they tend to stagger the lineups on the stages slightly. At least for the Main stage and the Wookie stage (2nd stage) anyway. You might have a 15 minute window to catch a tail end of one act after you leave one of the stages. It all depends on the speed of setup/teardown of course.

Yeah, they defnitely conflict. Let's see if i can't find the thing I got from the Stranger last year for the lineup.

So does anyone remember in the past about when the official schedule is unveiled? Wish I knew my possible conflicts sooner than later...

Well, I have been doing some reasearch on past Sasquatch line ups. And, it seems we may have the basic framework for set times right in front of our eyes. For example, why on earth are Fleet Foxes and Dengue Fever billed above The Breeders? Or why is Dyme Def and Yeasayer billed above Ghostland Observatory? It doesn't make any sense.
Well, while looking into past line up releases, and how the evolved until set times come out, it seems that as the festival tends to get closer, they list the bands as they are to appear on the various stages. It looks like the line up has solidified so I made some THEORETICAL set times based on NOTHING except how the bands are billed. I made some possible set times for Saturday and Monday... So here they are...

I would disagree with The Breeders being on the second stage. I would say they would actually bill higher than The National. Could be wrong

Also could you run Sunday as well?

I think Breeders as the Wookie stage closer would make sense looking at the 2007 schedule.

And looking at the old schedule...I know they're just projections you made (kudos by the way for putting it together) but I'd guess the times to be similar to last years accept for the Cure getting 2 hours because of it being a rescheduled performance.

I would normally agree crveatch... however, there is a major difference this year... 1 less mainstage act. Last year, there were 10 mainstage acts. This year on Saturday there will be 9. On Sunday there will be 8 (including "Christmas On Mars") and on Monday there wll be 9, assuming FoTC will be a mainstage act, and not playing between sets.
This makes sense, consdering the bands playing this year. Last year, both Bjorks and Beastie Boys solo shows usually clocked in around an hour and half. This year, we KNOW the Cure are getting 2.5 hours. Also, REM played for 2 hours (possibly loonger) at Langerado this year. Also, the Flaming Lips solo shows usually last around 2-2.5 hours. And those are just the headliners. When I saw Modest Mouse a couple years ago, they played around 2 hours. Also, Mars Volta solo shows usually last around 2.5-3 hours. I also hear a rumour The Mars Volta has said they are now only going to play festivals where they get a garunteed at least hour and half.
So that is my logic to set times and why the mainstage acts have longer then usual sets.

Are you basing everything on 2007 Saturday night cause that hasn't been the norm.

2005 Schedule
2006 Schedule
2007 Schedule

Nine Inch Nails and Beck got 1.5 hours too and they usually play longer. Festival shows are usually shorter sets than solo shows.

I don't doubt the last acts could be receiving longer sets this year but if anything that will make the opening main acts play the same as previous years or shorter not longer as you have them doing. Keep in mind they could always go past midnight.

Rage, I agree, from what I recall of last year, the billing virtually dictated the schedule. It makes more sense for the Breeders to play a longer set closing out one stage than opening the main stage with a shorter set. Some of the bigger festivals tend to put bigger draws against each other to disperse the crowd a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if your schedule is very accurate. And they did change the order of billing recently, correct?

I guess my argument is that The Breeders are billed 3rd on the Coachella lineup so why would they agree to close a side stage at a smaller festival when they are leading in sub headliners at arguably the biggest fest in the US
