 The "undercard" discussion
« Thread Started on Feb 27, 2009, 4:40pm »

So, we've all beat discussions about the headliners into the ground, while a lot of the undercard bands have barely been discussed at all.

Which ones are you looking forward to most?

I listened to the Worms vs. Birds Sunday playlist yesterday, and there is some great stuff on there.

I think The Avett Brothers are gonna be awesome. The Submarines will be cool, too. Devotchka will probably be pretty awesome.

A couple of others I'm really looking forward to are King Kahn and the Shrines(just downloaded one of their albums yesterday and its right up my alley) and Golgol Bordello.

I bought Horse Feathers' newest record the other day and it's pretty great. Definitely helps out a weak-looking Monday.

The Submarines are amazing. Gogol Bordello I started listening to, same with M83. So far I am pleased with all the bands I didn't know.
The Submarines / Gogol are the main reason I am going, musically at least.

Passion Pit is going to be a great act. I have a friend back east who saw them recently, their EP is a blast, and judging by their youtube videos, they will not disappoint at Sasquatch! ;D

Monday is so not weak in my eyes. Fleet Foxes are awesome, Grizzly Bear is amazing, Beach House is great. So many good bands in the undercard!

I wouldn't doubt it, yea Dan Auerbach is doing a solo show in seattle at the showbox, but I think he will come back with the band and play sasquatch this year. They opened for Stone Temple Pilots at last years Bumbershoot.

Explosion in the Sky. I'd probably pay $150 just to see them.

Devotchka + Explosions In The Sky? That will be one intense show. But honestly the ticket price is worth it for EITS alone. Although I am really psyched for all the bands to be honest.

I usually go strictly for the undercard groups. Headliners are usually just a bonus.

I'm most excited about EITS, Gogol Bordello, Black Moth Super Rainbow (& Tobacco), Ra Ra Riot, Chromeo, etc.

Devotchka is really good live (Voodoo 08) and Gogol is just friggin intense! We saw him at the HoB last year and it was just awesome. BMSR is good live, not much different from their albums, imo.
