 Lineup - Sorted by genre
« Thread Started on Feb 9, 2013, 10:03pm »

Does anybody have a list of acts that will be playing that's sorted by music genre? (i.e. Indie, hip-hop, electronic, etc.)

You should do it, but be very very specific, i.e. Math Rock, Southern Rap, Trap, European House, 90's Grunge Throwback...etc.

Go to last.fm and it will generally tell you what the genre(s) of each artist is. It can be off on some of the lesser known artists. Such as when it tried to tell me Robert DeLong was Drum and Bass.

He's been discussed somewhere on these boards recently.

You know what? I have some time to kill. I'm gonna make a chart separating every band into individual genres for the hell of it.

Thanks for that Geno, this will really help me Dr. Garbanzoure out where to begin with my research on the bands I'm not as familiar with.

There is a shit ton of alt-country/bluegrass this year as well. Probably deserves it's own category.

I would not call most of that bluegrass. I prefer my mandolins and such in the form of bluegrass instead of alt-country/indie. Although I could be totally wrong so there you go.

I don't know how to add to your chart Geno, but here's the hip-hop acts:
Macklemore, Azealia Banks, Schoolboy Q, Danny Brown, Earl Sweatshirt, Killer Mike, P.O.S., Shad, El-P, Baauer, Nacho Picasso, Brothers From Another, Knowmads, Tilson xoxo, RA Scion, OC Notes, Kingdom Crumbs, Theoretics, Nissim, and Death Grips

Comedians:
Nick Offerman, Mike Birbiglia, Brett Gelman, Jenny Slate, Kyle Kinane, Brody Stevens, Jon Daly, James Adomian, and Joe Mande

All of these can also be classified as acts I will be intentionally missing.
