By this same logic: does that mean that the 50-foot shower is still going to be there?

The 50 ft shower was there two years ago for promotion...

The maine stage is an additional stage to add more variety to the festival...

I don't see how the two are related...

They are related through the mysterious and misunderstood power of 'joking'. Anyway, the 50-foot shower and the Maine Stage are equally fucking stupid. So they have that in common.

Every day I walked past each of these things. Every day I asked myself, "Why?"

Quote:
Bear Mountain is an electronic dance band from Vancouver, B.C. Stirring and soulful, they blend syncopated bass lines and arpeggiated synth chords with live instrumentation and soaring vocals to create a sound that is both deeply moving, and sweetly captivating. With old heartbreak on the mountain style vocals, Bear Mountain sings with powerful release and vulnerable honesty.

New Sigur Ros material confirmed to be awesome.

http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/news/:

Quote:
2013 promises to be an interesting year in the sigur rós universe. having started 2012 with the ambient-leaning and largely-untourable valtari album, they closed with a hometown show in reykjavík hinting at broad changes to come. playing the new song brennisteinn with valtari still very much in the air, the band put a marker in the ground for how their world might look as a newly-forged three-piece (without departing keyboard player kjartan sveinsson).

now, on the cusp of 2013 touring, the sigur rós are – as we write – in portugal rehearsing more new material to be unveiled across europe, the usa and south east asia. coming to a show is the only way you’re going to experience this stuff outside crappy youtube clips in the coming months. you know what to do.

matched to this is a new show looking to eclipse the band’s previous high-water marks of live presentation. new visuals, new lights and new stage set, and not forgetting a new player (welcome ingrid on viola). plus, of course, the new songs.

oh, and we are excited to announce that supporting on all european dates is the excellent blanck mass and in north america, tim hecker (dc – ottawa) and oneohtrix point never (toronto – sta barbara).

below is a preview of what to expect in 2013, featuring an (extended) snippet of new studio material.

That new set of theirs on the Gorge main stage is going to be one of the most monumental music moments of my life. I almost wish I could go back and un-see their Seattle show last summer, just so this could be my first time ever seeing them. I'm getting butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it.

I also really hope that snippet of new music is indicative of what we can expect on the new album. Sounds like some rip-roaring stuff to contrast the often quieter sounds that were on Valtari.

They've been my favorite active band for a very long time, and I've said often that they could pull off a way heavier sound and have it come out fantastically. I hope they do well with the transition, obviously they will!

I haven't seen them since the Takk tour so I'm very excited to get reacquainted to their live show. Time to watch Heima a bunch of times to get ready.

Tim Hecker and Oneohtrix Point Never? Fuck yes. I might have to see them in SF, along with Coachella and Sasquatch.
