Dragonette?

Maybe we can have an all-pop-music-Dragon-in-the-band-name day?

Stop talking about them like they're a rock band.

Imagine Dragons is great pop music. Just like 'fun.' is good pop music. If you don't like pop music that's fine (I don't either), but even then you should celebrate that they are taking airtime away from the Taylor Swifts, Beibers, Rhinaannahanhans and other corporate boardroom produced, xfactor winners, and autochunes of the world.

Don't get me wrong. They're completely commercial, but so is Sasquatch BROUGHT TO YOU BY ESURANCE AND KOKANNEE, PRODUCED BY LIVENATION. Just because someone's making money off of it doesnt change the quality of the music/festival.

A good litmus test for douchebags last year was how quickly they brought up 'fun.' and scoffed at them. Imagine Dragons will be that band this year.

Unrelated, but every girl at the festival will be at imagine dragons.

I would buy all of this if they were actually good pop music, as you say. I could probably name 5 current pop artists that I would rather see at the gorge this year in a heartbeat (Alex Clare, Willy Moon, Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Adele...). Plus they look like hipster/hobo Nickelback.

Good god Kalvor. If Rihanna was at the gorge, I'd sell my ticket. Lets not say things we can't take back!!!

Obviously this is subjective. If people consider Imagine Dragons on the same level (or universe) as Rihanna, then I'm not gonna win this argument. They are 2 different beasts in my mind. I do consider Alex Clare and Adele as similar to Imagine Dragons though. I could definitely see Alex Clare being added.

I would have never even heard of Imagine Dragons if it weren't for the single worst member this forum has ever had, I wouldn't know who Rihanna is if she hadn't got bopped in the nose by that dude, and I have no fucking clue what an Alex Clare is. Shitty music is shitty music is shitty music, and it is going to take up the bottom 70% of the Sasquatch lineup poster just like it does every single year.

Really the only thing you are actually saying is I like shitty pop music A more than I like shitty pop music B. Pretending like there is any difference makes you sound like a doofus.

So what you're saying is that you've never tried broccoli because you know it tastes bad?

I trust my taste in music, so I don't have to rely on rules like "I don't listen to X genre" to save me from shitty music. I'll listen to anything once. If I listen to it twice it must be better than the 90% of crap I don't listen to twice.

At least you admitted you aren't qualified to weigh in on this discussion.

Kid sittin' here talkin' to me about genres.

If you can decide whether or not something is crap after listening to it once, then you aren't qualified to weigh in on any discussion I'd be willing to have with you.

Hi, my name is Jeff Bhasker. You may know me for the work I did in producing the new album by fun. 'Some Nights'. Oh, don't recognize me for that, maybe you recognize the work I did on 'Red' by Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift and fun. are one in the same. Commercially produced autochune crap.

I'm actually surprised he isn't involved with Imagine Dragons.

Most main stream pop is pretty horrible, but every now and then real music can shine through. Imagine dragons is shit. Rock music that tries to be main stream pop music is shit! This new frank ocean album isn't to bad and I would say that is mainstream pop. Usher put out that song climax with diplo, that was super mainstream and I think that song is phenomenal. Most of Adele's music has been played a couple million times to many, put under neath that pop success and over play there are some songs that are not that bad. HG we understand you don't like generic music, but that doesn't mean all generic mainstream pop music is bad, just because it is generic mainstream pop music does not mean it necessarily has characteristics that make it bad. Artist can take old over done kinds of music and reinvent them with new innovative song writing abilities like frank ocean or raw vocal power in usher's case.

You're talking to a person who has listened to the same album for 10 years, in spite of not liking it, on the inkling that he would one day like it, and it worked. He's out of your league, son.
