I don't believe this for one second. You mean to tell me neither of you discuss the shows during or directly after the show? I know you each post your opinions within minutes of each other on the board, and that's why I mentioned it. Real life aside, it's very noticeable on the board.

Well, that's my assumption. Either that or Stormy is plagiarizing my opinions. Love is a compromise, wonk.

Bleep bloop I am a lifeless robot lady. Tell me what to say...

Ok but I think what he meant was not that we never talk about things together after seeing them (that would be weird and boring) but we spend all day apart and often still post very similar things when not around talking about it. We do have strikingly similar interests, but we make up for that in major personality differences. If it is noticeable, then you have eyes I guess. Like I said, it is a combination of things. I certainly don't agree with him to gain any kind of approval. He and everyone else can either like me for who I am or take a walk.

Fuck headliners indeed. I prefer a ton of unknowns, well unknown to most. The little guys I have discovered because of music festivals are some of the best shows I have seen in recent years.

And Fuck Kanye West. AND The Rolling Stones? Who the hell wants to see a group of leather hand-bags attempt to play songs that were popular 20 fucking years ago??
You're trying way to hard to be hipster.

Not even close. I merely appreciate good music that isn't being listened to by everybody. I do not listen to music because everyone else is listening to it. I love finding new artists among the lesser known people at festivals, you usually get a better show out of it, besides its not usually where all the little kids that are high on MDMA are flocking to. And I do not enjoy being in a tight crowd of people (that are so all so close to me that I get sweat from other people on me) just to get close to a headliner. I pay hundreds of dollars to go to these festivals to ENJOY my time there.

And I guarantee I would not enjoy a Rolling Stones show, they are decades past their prime.

The Rolling Stones had their FIRST hits in the mid sixties which is steadily approaching fifty years ago so you really need to learn how to count. Never mind the fact that those songs ([I can't Get No] Satisfaction, to name just one) are still well known and loved by a very large number of people. Hand bags? Yeah sure, but don't discredit the staying power of bands as popular as the Stones and their music.

Now, that being said, I would take a super strong midrange of bands over some over the top headliner any day. I'm thinking of Sasquatch 2010 specifically where the headliners were somewhat modest (MMJ, Massive Attack, Ween) and the midrange was amazing (Broken Social Scene, LCD Soundsystem, etc). That sounds a lot more enjoyable to me than a lackluster undercard and Muse or Prince or something.

Ok Fine, more than 20 years ago.

And yes, Sasquatch 2010 was indeed fantastic for this reason. There were many great bands on the bill that weren't necessarily huge acts. To me that makes a better festival, more acts to see throughout the four days, not just in the evening on the Main stage.

How does a band headline with one album though? It would be the shortest headlining set in Sasquatch history unless Gibbard played some Death Cab songs too, or they dug deep and brought out some unreleased tracks.

Hah. I don't find it fun when I am spending more of my time trying to keep myself from being pushed over than watching the show I payed to see.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be in the crowd. Just not way up at the front getting crushed (I'm not a huge guy).

I was pretty annoyed last year by all the high teenagers.
I guess I'm getting old.

Over the past couple of years Sasquatch has done a good job of turning the Banana Shack into a mini Electric Daisy Carnival, thus isolating a lot of the ecstasy/molly kids.

This is the reason 2010 had the best festival lineup I've ever experienced. Those three headliners typically play venues in the 3000-5000 capacity range, but were no less able to put on incredible shows than gigantic headliners like Foo Dr. Garbanzohters. That is the formula for an incredible lineup.

I'm dying to know which 'unknowns' you are referring to. You must certainly have had truly wearying amounts of time to seek them out in your 2.4 decades of exhausting life.
