I'm not too sure if I want to buy into this Sigur Ros "tour dates" theory. Maybe they are skipping the PNW, and touring all over the U.S., but they didn't tour very much last time they were in the U.S., and played shows in the PNW, probably out of convenience, since they were playing Outside Lands. Maybe they are just covering the areas they didn't play before.
