I'm sorry, I didn't mean in terms of size or ticket sales. I meant, No Doubt would bring jackasses who completely suck, while Pearl Jam will bring a crowd NOT composed solely of frat boys and their teenaged siblings.

FTW!!

I Think we might get one of them but, I can't see all three, no way.

Beasties, I Just have a feeling they won't be there.

I heard a couple of rumors about Radiohead.

I think they only way they are there, is if they headline 2 nights like they did at APW, that way LN can throw more money at them to entice them to come.

Which would be awesome.

Pearl jam is , I think is a probably the Most likely.

But Who Knows?

I'm not feeling the Radiohead rumor. They're last tour was eco-friendly, playing venues in large cities to cut down on traffic/wasted fuel, as well as their light show requiring very little power. While it's true that Sasquatch does promote going green, George is a long drive from Seattle, Spokane, and Portland.

Pearl Jam could be. Aren't they releasing the Ten remaster in May? However, 2 nights of an evening w/ PJ seem more likely later on in the summer.

I'd be very surprised if the Beasties came back so soon. After all the hype and 2 sets back in '07 it seems too soon for a return in '09.

I will never believe Radiohead will be there until I see it on that poster, but god I hope this is the year.

While there is no evidence to support Pearl Jam, I could definitely see that happening. There was an article the other day in which Jeff Ament talked about their new material. A 1-2 punch of KOL and PJ would be orgasmic. http://consequenceofsound.net/2009/02/09/pearl-jams-elusive-ninth-studio-effort/

This seems to be a strange place to be discussing my dick, although I am fbelt sandered you graded it an A. It might have been easier to understand your grade had you wrote, "your A+ dick." But seriously, PM me if you want to talk about my dick, there are children here.

Then again, maybe you meant, "you're a dick" which would be an insult rather than an admiration. Nice first post though, welcome to the board.

I have read in the past that My Morning Jacket and Beck are taking time off from touring, so each is unlikely. My Morning Jacket isn't even on the Bonnaroo lineup (yet?) which would support this. Beck shouldn't be back so soon without his puppet gimmick. At least when the Flaming Lips came back, it was with their UFO. A normal Beck show might be disappointing compared to Sasquatch 06.

I like Elvis Costello, but he is not a headliner. He played a 1,400 venue last time he was in Portland, about four years ago. I don't think his popularity has grown that much since. Animal Collective sold out the same venue two years ago, and it is safe to say their popularity has grown since, and Animal Collective is not even close to headliner status. By comparison, Kings of Leon recently sold out a 2,700 venue, Weezer played at a 10,000 capacity venue, and NIN played at a 20,000 capacity venue. If Elvis Costello headlined a night, I would seriously start thinking about the festival being shortened or canceled due to putrid ticket sales.

I like the Jane's Addiction rumor, that would be cool. I added them to the first post of this thread.

you are deranged man.
1-whatever im not going to take my time to correctly spell every fucking detail especially to someone i have no respect for.
2-Elvis Costello is a giant next to a band liek the Nine inch nails i mean he probably played a 1400 person venue because a lot of artists later in their careers who have done as much as Costello has enjoy smaller settings.
Your grasp on music is a joke, learn your shit.

Okay, I lied. THIS is an A+ poster. Do you have a blog or something where I can continue to read your opinions? Actually, just please make sure you post as often as you can so that I don't have to go anywhere new to read your insights. Thank you.

xoxo,

I don't think a lot of people in here have a real grasp on the popularity of some of these bands. Radiohead and Pearl Jam are both larger bands than sasquatch can logically get and if we did it would be an amazing grab for Sasquatch. I'm not saying it's impossible but it would be a complete shock

I think they could get one or the other, but probably not both.

PJ is not a stretch. Their roots are here and some of their biggest most famous shows have been at the Gorge.

Funnygrrrl seems to understand this unlike a lot of you. Both of these acts can easily sell out the gorge on their own, they don't need to play a festival like this. You absolutely cannot question how much smaller of a festival sasquatch is compared to bonnaroo, coachella, and Lollapalooza where pearl jam and radiohead have headlined in the past. Besides, Radiohead is pretty much done with NA touring for the moment and it's unlikely they'll come out for this small of a festival. Pearl Jam is slightly more likely cause they're from the northwest and haven't played here for a while. Unfortunately, last I heard they just entered the studio to record new album. All I'm saying is don't get your hopes up because you're going to be disappointed

Each year, in the weeks leading up to the lineup announcement, people claiming to have insider knowledge blow up the internet promising certain bands will or will not be on the lineup. The Sasquatch community is relatively small, so we have been mostly void of the spammers. Then again, sometimes a spammer actually does have insider information.

Earlier today, someone posted on a different site that the top four acts for this year's Sasquatch would be Kings of Leon, two repeat headliners, and one reunion act most will not care about. Personally, I think Nine Inch Nails will be there, and it makes sense Kings of Leon would be billed top four. As for a reunion that would be billed top four that no one cares about? I can't think of one, except for the band mentioned 53 times on this board, No Doubt. I still think it is plausible No Doubt headlines Monday night. This person also states that although the headliners are disappointing, the second tier acts are great. I agree the second tier is looking great based on the lineup leaks so far, regardless of who the headliners are.

So if Felix the Pos(t)er actually has insider information, we might be looking at the top four billed as Kings Of Leon, Nine Inch Nails, No Doubt, and one other repeat headliner. Who would the repeat headliner be then? People are talking about the Beastie Boys recently, and I agree, Beastie Boys might show up again. Then again, Felix the Pos(t)er said the headliners would be disappointing, and NIN and Beastie Boys are far from disappointing no matter how recently they headlined. So, if I am going to be disappointed with the headliners, I would replace the Beastie Boys with Ben Harper.

So there you have it, your Sasquatch 09 headliners:

Nine Inch Nails/Ben Harper & Relentless7/No Doubt/Kings of Leon a subheadliner (Sub Beastie Boys for Nine Inch Nails or Ben Harper). It isn't that much of a stretch, right? At least it will give us something else to discuss during the next few days.

I've moved around a couple bands on the first post of this thread, as well as added the Beastie Boys.
