I like that there IS a rap stage, y'all. But that name is probably sub-Rumpus Room. The dance tent names are stupid with a wink. If you're gonna do a "Maine Stage," you might as well go all the way with it. And I don't mean like Bonnaroo does, they're not going farther enough either. I mean, like:

Stage 1: The Uhhhhhhhhh
Stage 2: The Ehhhhhhhhh
Stage 3: The Euuhhhhhhh
Tent: The Euuuuuhhhhhhh
Stage 4: The Euhhhhhhhhhhh

Holy shit, I just read all the stage and tent names at Bonnaroo, I could see that getting pretty confusing for some drunk first-timers.

A: Where are you going?
B: I'm going to this tent *points*
A: You mean That Tent?
B: No, this tent *points again*
A: No, that's That Tent.
B: No dude THIS TENT! *points emphatically*

And so fourth with Abbott and Costello rip offs.

I really hope the Maine/Main thing doesnt fuck anyone up for meetings, and it probably won't, but I'm with NJ, possibly the dumbest name ever; it doesn't even make any sense.

it really shouldnt be too big of a problem. no disrespect to the seatle hip-hop scene, but i wont be going to the maine stage at all unless there is a big gap between bands i want to see.

They obviously named it that way so people would get confused and end up there. Otherwise that stage would have zero people.

Imagin the artists getting the stages mixed up. Beck shows up half an hour before his set and frantically asks a yellowshirt where the main stage is. He has no idea who Beck is a points him towards the hiphop stage. Meanwhile at the Sasquatch stage Beck is no where to be found, so they grab the nearest group of people who have artist passes.

Beck plays to 60 people who have no idea who he is while Fresh Espresso play in front of 20K people who are are confused as hell. 40 people in the pit are going nuts because they are too drunk to care.

I guess I just Dr. Garbanzoured if they weren't going to see Beck, they probably wouldn't recognize him if he took the stage. Once he played 'Loser' or something I'm sure they would catch on.

any of you sleuthers able to find out which day Joy Formidable is playing? or the Walkmen? I'm guessing Walkmen on Friday, JF I thought would be Monday but now not so sure.

the potential Tenacious v Spiritualized conflict is bumming me out again, though I won't take anything too seriously before it's official.
