I don't know if anyone posted this, but at the end of his recent German t.v appearance he said he is touring with both the 'boy' and 'girl' bands, and that he decides who will play each song over breakfast.

After a couple listens, Blunderbuss is pretty great and because of this I think his set will be the best of the weekend. If the record had sucked and half his setlist are those songs, it would have still been pretty good because of his previous material. I can't see it being anything short of an incredible show now.

Man...Blunderbuss just sounds like more of the same old Jack White to me. Definitely confirms my long-standing opinion that he just simply does nothing for me.

Listen to track 10, and tell me you're not smiling by the end of it.

Or track 8, for that matter.

Those tracks were nice, but I stand by my opinion. Trust me, I have nothing but respect for his music and career, and will likely watch a couple of songs because I know how important he is to this generation, but I've just never really been into any of his projects. Oh well!

Just listened through it for the first time and I really enjoyed it. What a fun album! This set is going to be off the fucking chain. Second best show I will see all summer, calling it right now.

You ever seen him live? Can't say I'm blown away by his recorded stuff (I like it but it's also kinda 'whatever' at times) but the man always puts on a show. As far as real deal rock shows go it's definitely one of the better experiences you can have these days.

Which is exactly why I'm willing to give him a chance. I never understood the love for Pulp until I was basically stuck watching them at Coachella. That set MIGHT go down in my top 10 favorite shows of all time, mostly because of how they blew my low expectations off the face of the earth. It does suck that J.W. is playing against my #1 must-see artist though :(

Word. The dude is unreal live. Total rock star. His stage presence is amazing. Seeing the White Stripes live was something else.

I even sat and watched a Dead Weather set just to watch him drum, and the Dead Weather are AWFUL. It was still pretty cool.

The White Stripes were incredible in concert. I have no doubt in my mind that Jack will be just as powerful. The album is so fucking amazing. "Weep Themselves to Sleep" is the standout track for me.

I've seen the White Stripes quite a few times, but none of it compared to the times I saw Jack with the Raconteurs. This is why I cannot wait to see him with a full band again.

Side Note: The girl fiddle player, Ella-May, is from a band called Jypsi which is an act my friends and I have been seing for years everytime we go to Nashville. We've all hung out (they are a family band of incredibly talanted and attractive people. Their brother is unreal on guitar) and have shared drinks at Layla's Bluegrass Inn together on more than a few occaisions.
