I still think Mellow Gold is the best. I haven't bought a Beck album since Odelay was released. I have been listening to the other ones, and Guero is pretty good.

Little burrito was a punk rocker. I spent my high school years hanging out with idiots who talked shit about bands like The Cure, when none of us likely ever actually sat down and listened to an album. I just heard Disintegration last week for the first time because of you guys and loved it, so thank you for that.
Beck on the other hand...I guess I was just listening to NOFX and missed the boat. Or maybe too much time spent driving a truck, listening to "alternative" radio. My blood used to boil in that truck when I'd hear "Loser". I'll stick it out for his set until he plays that song, because of Lumpy's video.

Success! Hopefully it's worth your time. And while Mellow Gold might not be my favorite album in general. "Pay No Mind (Snoozer)" might be my favorite song of his. I also love the video for it.

And shit all the Odelay music videos are great too. And of course there's that great video for Sexx Laws with Jack Black. Hey everybody, just watch all his music videos.

Thanks a lot you guys for not telling me that Mellow Gold is the Beck masterpiece. I genuinely love this album front to back, and kind of hate everything else I've heard except for Ramshackle, including the majority of Odelay. I've seen some setlists listed as half acoustic/half electric, I would really like to see the acoustic side now. Is this a live Beck standard?

I guarantee you that Beck won't play a note off of Mellow Gold except for 'Loser'.

I was actually thinking about this fact the other day. Once I thought about it, I Dr. Garbanzoured you'd find Mellow Gold to be your favorite. Though this reason made me hesitant since I didn't want to get your hopes up:

I for some reason could see him maybe playing Pay No Mind though.

Looks like he's been playing 'Beer Can' sporadically, but it also looks like even 'Loser' isn't a sure thing anymore. Several sets have been completely devoid of ANY material off of Mellow Gold.

So basically, hey Burrito man, give the Beck set a try, there's a 5% chance you might get a Mellow Gold song!
But then again, hasn't he not played live in quite a while? Maybe he's completely retooling his sets.

I didn't do any research, so I may be completely wrong, I just know he had that back injury that kept him from playing live for a while.

He recently did Bridge School as well as a Japanese tour. Generally the first half of the set is acoustic stuff from Modern Guilt, Mutations and Sea Change, followed by 'Where It's At' and some Guero and Information chunes.
