I'd argue "Indie" is the perfect term for a punk bank evolving into more of a rock band because, yknow, that's kinda what indie was when it started. Small record lables stuck somewhere between rock and punk. Want me to use the term "alternative" instead?

But you're probably one of those guys that will correct a person calling Techno music Techno and tell them it's EDM, because that's what the 'kids these days' are calling it.

Please describe the song '21 guns' to me without using the terms indie, alternative or any sub genre of either one.

I'm expecting more rock and less punk. I think this trailer is the only "leaked" music from the new albums.

It's indy as fuck.

This is patently wrong on all counts. Green Day has been a major-label success since their second album. They have a fucking Broadway show based on a Grammy-winning album. "Indie music" is, by definition, music released by an artist without the assistance or artistic meddling of a major record company. "Indie" wasn't a style of music until the predisposition of a generation's worth of independent artists began to reveal a set of tendencies. It is literally impossible for Green Day to be labeled 'indie' unless you are absolutely wrong about what you are saying.
