I dug it too...not a huge amount of crowd engagement from what I recall but a solid set.

I think among my biggest regrets of last year are Wolf Parade, k-os because I got stuck in the line, and Yeasayer (though Modest Mouse killed it).

Black Angels would be solid as fuck methinks. I'd love to see those cats live.

Iron & Wine bored me to tears last year, but I loved loved loved them in '06 and Our Endless Numbered Days is still one of my favorite albums front to back.

If you were at Matt and Kim instead you made the right choice.

I was for most of their set, but then made the same mistake as GW. In defense of Iron & Wine though, almost everything on the mainstage sounded awful that day (due to strong wind and my lazy refusal to stroll down to the pit where I'm sure the sound was much better).

I agree. I thought it was much more interesting than the time we saw them in '06.

Perhaps this is where the disconnect is because we were down near the stage.

Wolf Parade just weren't ever very good live. They had a tendency to rush through every song they played, and all that cool angular interplay got turned into a muddy soup.

I regret missing Yeasayer playing 'Tightrope', but that's about the only track they're playing anymore that I'd care to hear. I'd rather sit and listen to Wayne bullshit for twenty minutes than have to hear them play most of the shit that was on Odd Blood, so that's what I did.

Matt & Kim was probably the most fun set of the weekend. Happiness overload.

The Rapture are out.

I saw The Shins at Outside Lands in August and actually thought they were really fun. Not super energetic, but they sounded good and weren't lethargic or anything. Every time I thought I'd was about to maybe get bored they'd play something and I'd be think, "Oh yeah, I love this song." Maybe it's because I'd never seen them before and had hoped to for years, but it was one of my favorite sets of that fest.

I saw you guys discussing Why? I emailed them a few days ago but haven't heard back. I'm really hoping they'll make it out.

The Shins were an incredible live band . I've seen them three times. They used to be really tight, really high-energy and they had a perfect setlist that went from up-tempo to mellow numbers seamlessly. But I don't consider this new band the Shins anymore. James Mercer killed the band and kept the name.

Where are you finding this information, email reply? That's unfortunate news, if it happens to be true....... Also, hello! I don't think I've posted for 3 years.

Email replies from booking agents or band managers. 'Tis true. Thankfully I got to see them just a couple months ago.
