Old people won't ruin it, the crap headliners will ruin it. Don't blame old folks for the fact that Goldenvoice's booking skillz are seriously lacking.

That said, the undercard is pretty nice, but full of the same bands that have been on the festival circuit for a while now.

I have to say that's something I've always liked about Sasquatch; they book so many local bands that you don't get to see very often if you don't live in the Pacific Northwest. Sasquatch has a definite flavor; Coachella feels kind of generic, IMO.

good news, fall out boy is playing a seattle show in april which makes them an almost definite lock to NOT be at sasquatch. i don't think the festival planners would schedule such a terrible band in the first place, but then again nickelback did play sasquatch before. coachella's headliners are pretty bad this year, hopefully ours will be a lot better.

Wow. Except for Paul McCartney, I would have to agree with you bobbyrisigliano. I don't won't to say anything bad about the cure, because I know that won't sit well with thecure102, and I don't want to bash anyones favourite band here..........BUT I kinda thought the Cure were a bit of a snor last year. That being said however........there were a ton of people who didn't think that too. As far as the Killers go......thanks, but no thanks.

Wow I'm glad i'm not going to Coachella. With those 3 shitty preformers headlining there's no way that the Quatch won't have better headliners this year? Have fun with the 50 year olds on Friday. Surprisingly Morrisey's biggest fan base is latinos.

I have a belief Sasquatch will outdo Coachella. It's not that it's bad, but aside from McCartney I could care less about the headliners. If it was the Killers still supporting Sam's Town, I'd be there. But their latest album wasn't good so I don't care to hear it. Plus Amy Winehouse? Whatever.

I was waiting (and waiting and waiting and waiting) for the coachella lineup to see if it would be worth making the trip down.
Friday is pretty amazing. Macca, Leonard Cohen, and Morrissey all in the same day is incredible. Who cares if they are old?
Saturday is just bad (minus Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, TV on the Radio, MSTRKRFT, but I've already seen them all)
If I hadn't seen The Cure last year at S'quatch I would probably go. But I'm thinking it's not worth it for one good day.

There's usually at least 20 bands (usually not headliners) that play both Coachella and Sasquatch. Last year was a bit of an exception (only 10 repeats)
I could see the following at the gorge:
- Conor Oberst, the Black Keys (please), Silver Sun Pickups, Airbourne Toxic Event, M. Ward, Peanut Butter Wolf, Noah & the Whale, White Lies, Los Campesinos!, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes (originally didn't think they would be there), Dr. Dog, Calexico (with Iron & Wine hopefully), Blitzen Trapper, Cloud Cult, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Peter Bjorn and John (obviously), Jenny Lewis, Lykke Li, Late of the Pier, K'naan, No Age, Vivian Girls, Friendly Fires, The Gaslight Anthem (no Seattle date on current tour)

i agree with most of your speculations and complains about coachella's lineup, ccoult. i would really like to see leonard cohen somewhere. hell, sasquatch is a lot closer to canada. coachella might be too hot for him, in his refined age...
i guess the biggest band from coachella that i'd like to see at the gorge next to the black keys though is franz ferdinand. is there some reason that can't happen? oh, and the yeah yeah yeahs. i could dig that

Scough, nickleback has never played Sasquatch. They played bumbershoot a few years ago. As for my dealbrekers I don’t have any. This will be my seventh year at the festival and I have never been let down. Even though the headliners and some other bands might not always be my favorite there are always other options to avoid bands you don’t want to see (the two other stages, taking drunken hacks in the batting cage, or just heading back early to meet cool people in the campground).

It's funny how many people are saying the jamband / ben harper&jack johnson sound is "not sasquatch". Remember the first year? Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Galactic, Soullive, String Cheese... actually the *only* non-jam or college rock act that year was Blackalicious.

That said, I guess it has evolved to something different now... and if you want to travel to a jam festival you can go to Bonnaroo.

But a night with DMB would be pretty cool... most of the DMB naysayers would change their mind once thye witness a live set.

ah yes, i mixed up bumbershoot and sasquatch. good to see the sasquatch planners have avoided them. they put together a hell of a festival the last couple years, so i have confidence this year will be great.

I'm betting on The Black Keys this year. Does anyone remember that they were the music playing between sets on the main stage last year? It was like a constant tease, reminding us they weren't around... But I have faith that they'll appear this time.

I agree with the would like list... Not quite as much on the dealbreaker list. Death Cab, DMB, The Killers? All quality artists IMO.
