I've got to say - I find the Dave Mathews Band rumours a tad disheartening. There are a few things I hate worse than "jam bands" - aka DMB, Phish, Ben Harper. Not only for the music (which I hate), but also for the people that these bands attract.

I wouldn't worry about phish coming they are to big for this festival , and DMB already plays 3 days @ the gorge in august so probably not going to happen. That sucks a "jam band" would be a deal breaker for you, I enjoy this festival for many reasons and one of them is for its diversity, and as a fan of jambands I hope a couple come, to keep this festival diverse. that also sucks that you could hate someone for their musical tastes.
As for me the only possible deal breaker would be outrageous ticket prices. I hope they keep it reasonable this year.

Every year I am amazed at how entertained I am by the diverse lineup so I doubt Sasquatch! could throw me a dealbreaker...

Yeah - I've just been into too many situations at festivals with Jam bands, and coming up with more of a punk / hardcore background, its just really the opposite of what I like in music. To each their own though...

The idea of Dave Matthews performing at Sasquatch actually makes me angry. I was a stage hand at their 08 shows at the Gorge and I just can't fucking take that shit. They fed me well, way better than I normally eat, but their music sucks and their fans are really annoying.
BUT they aren't a deal breaker if the overall line-up is good. Have the other days have amazing headliners and I'm good. I don't like the Cure but I love the Flaming Lips and REM, made 08 fine.
If they do have Dave Matthews, I request Ghostland on the stage in the field again as I missed them in 08 and felt throwing them against the Lips was a bit unfair. They were good in 07 but I didn't get to see their lovely light show.
I do have to go with quartermass though and say I absolutely hate jam bands, I like music to go somewhere. Not start and never stop. If they have DMB or Phish or whoever, get me Bad Brains again.

Some girl on a Yahoo message forum was talking about No Doubt headlining Sasquatch. THE AUDACITY!! Tell me that wouldn't be a bona fide deal breaker.

Oh crap! I just looked at No Doubt's site and it says they are planning on headlining many outdoor festivals this summer...

please don't flame... legit question: what's the beef with No Doubt? I personally think they'd be a lot of fun... as long as gwen doesn't do any of her "current" material...

No Doubt's sound was dated the minute their albums were recorded. It's an outdoor music festival in the Pacific Northwest in 2009, not a teen movie in southern California in the late 90's. Their popular songs are running through my mind now and none are any good. I could name about forty better bands who would fit the general atmosphere and sound more naturally and successfully in less time than it would take anyone to give a single compelling reason for this band's reunion and continued existence.

I'd hate having No Doubt headline mainly because of the thousands of annoying teenagers they would draw to Sasquatch. Agreed that they should headline elsewhere.

I agree, there is nothing THAT bad about No Doubt, I had fun when I saw them in 1982, and I'd rather see Gwen jump around on stage than Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, or the Killers.
One reason people won't want No Doubt there is because they would headline, which would mean one less headline spot for what most of us would consider a solid headliner.
Another reason is the crowd they bring. Certain bands draw certain crowds, although I am one to think that Metallica, Lil Wayne, and Dave Matthews Band could headline, and everyone would have a great time and get along at the campground. Actually, probably a bad example, DMB fans are dicks.

Other dealbreakers:
John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Fergie, Dave Matthews Band, Fall Out Boy, Nickelback, Coldplay, Lil Wayne -- you know what, any hip-hop artist or group with massive commercial success outside of The Roots. Jason Mraz.

I think I love interstateeight.
I have too much faith in Sasquatch than to believe that they would allow such a crap band to headline their festival.

My 3 bands are -Paul McCartney -The Killers -The Cure Wow I'm glad i'm not going to Coachella. With those 3 shitty preformers headlining there's no way that the Quatch won't have better headliners this year? Have fun with the 50 year olds on Friday. Better get more ambulances down there, with all the Morrisey and McCartney fans. Old people will ruin that fest.
