The only show I saw that was shitty this year was Against Me. We were about 3/4 of the way up the hill when Bob Mould was on and we could barely hear him. Listening closely, the guy is extremely talented, but I think they fucked up his levels in sound check or something. Anyways, we decided that we would move over to the other stage to kick off the weekend with something a little louder. It wasn't very good.

the last time i ever listened to death cab was when i saw their set after QOTSA years ago. it was so boring. i thought I'd give them another chance this time, to see if they grew into the headliner spot, but that is obviously not the case. sadsquatch

Death cab was sooo bad. I completely forgot that I even saw them. I was only at it for the first 30 minutes. But I wasn't even paying attention so I guess my judgement shouldn't really be considered haha. I was rolling (literally) around in the lawn and color coordinating 1000 glowsticks for the glowpocalypse.

I have a couple I hated and one that was kind of underwhelming

Cold War Kids was boring me to tears as I expected them to. But the combination of Beach House, Flogging Molly, Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse made me forget it.

I didn't even bother watching Death Cab but I tried listening to the NPR stream...my god I completely grew out of them.

Iron & Wine was enormously disappointing for me...It probably has to do with the fact that every other time I've seen him it was just him and his guitar. Anyways, the way he tried to make all of his old songs into a "band" song didn't quite work for me. The sax player was great but my god that was one of the saddest excuse for a drummer I've ever seen live. I stuck around for Walking Far From Home and I went back to Bigfoot for Matt & Kim.

Foster The People: With the huuuuuuuuge effing crowd, people yapping, sound problems and late start, they really annoyed me. And the fact that they play identical set every time made me bored considering I watched them on the Coachella broadcast. That and the lead singer is boring to watch...that's unless you enjoy watching a guy shrug his shoulders over and over while he sings.

And this may have to do with the crowd or the fact that I got there late but I was rather underwhelmed by DFA 1979. I got there like half way through their set and I had a huge wall of people that are just standing around that I couldn't get through and it was really boring to watch. Also as far as I saw, I saw absolutely no crowd interaction and the way they left the stage by running that obnoxious bass noise wasn't too great either.

Anyways, some bitching but these were minor and didn't bother me too much. Loooved this weekend :)

Skrillex fucking blew. One of the biggest disappointments of the weekend. I kept telling myself "If he says one more fucking word I am leaving" to which I would turn around to leave only to be pulled back in by him playing one of his own songs, which was like...6. Seriously? 6 of your own fucking songs in a 60 minute set when the average song length he played was 90 seconds. Fuck you, you teenage girl lesbian lookin ass button pusher.

I only caught the last 6 or 7 songs of death cab (heard from "Soul Meets Body" on) and thought they sounded pretty good. Granted I didn't have to sit through any new stuff and just heard pretty much all the songs I liked of theirs. Plus I was still riding off the high that was SLEIGH FUCKING BELLS.

S. Carey was so borrrrrrrring.

I think I might of been one of the only people there not on substances. But with that being said, I fucking love his music. Its just a damn shame he has no fucking clue how to preform.

I was kind of underwhelmed by Sleigh Bells, but it sounds like it was just me. Reading everyone elses posts now it sounds like everyone loved them. They were one of of the shows I was most looking forward to, and I left thinking it was just ok, when I was expecting them to blow my mind. Maybe I was just too far back in the tent. I couldn't see them at all and thought the sound quality was only ok. Still disappointing, because I was SO excited for them.

Nah man, I was dead sober at Skrillex and had an awesome time.

I did laugh every time he talked about a new song he made like two days ago

I thought Death Cab was pretty decent, but my expectations were pretty low and I hadn't seen them previously. I liked how they opened the set with the long instrumental intro. I don't even really like that song, but it sounded good love and got me to stay for most of the set. "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" sounded really good and it seemed like everybody in my audible area was singing along, which made it all the more enjoyable.

Still not someone I would pay to see, but DCFC was certainly a surprise for me.
