Really, who sees more than five or six sets a day anyways? For me it reduces down to:
Kings of Leon / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Animal Collective / Sun Kil Moon / King Khan & The Shrines / Shearwater /
Sunday, May 24th
Jane's Addiction / TV On The Radio / Peter Bjorn and John / of Montreal / M83 / The Walkmen /
Monday, May 25th
Silversun Pickups / Fleet Foxes / Gogol Bordello / Grizzly Bear / Explosions In The Sky / Girl Talk / Monotonix /
Every fest I've gone to though I've left with at least one really pleasant surprise - a band I wasn't even planning on seeing who were great.

As for the lineup thus far- I am optimistic. If the headliners are medicore, we still have the fantastique rest of the lineup!

Can't believe Explosions In The Sky, M83, and Bon Iver aren't on the mainstage. My utopian Sasquatch has always included seeing EITS at sunset overlooking the gorge. Oh well, I'm still just soooo happy they will be there (and aren't at any other fests right now!)

I kind of prefer having them on Wookie. It just seems a lot more personal than Main stage.
And there are probably going to be a few more bands added. There were 72 bands last year, and so far there are only 65 bands for this year announced.

True. Saw them at Coachella on the main stage but it was mid-afternoon. They are totally a sunset, main stage band for Sasquatch.

I will agree, indie lovers dream. But the headliners??? Come on! I don't want to leave the festival at 8 o'clock all nights.
KoL I will stay for. Then Sun/Mon I will stay for Silversun & TVOTR. But I can live without seeing the others. Its still cheap though for $150 bucks. Plus I get $8 dollar icees!!!

Looking at the lineup thus far I think there is still a chance that somebody big will be announced. Hopefully they are waiting until the end of the lineup announcement to surprise us.

It will probably happen one-two in the middle of March. Three-Four at the end of April. Along with 2-3 cancellations (Maybe Janes Addiction will cancel! )Then two weeks before 2-3 more announced

Is this approximately how the announcements have been timed in the past? Or is this just speculation?

I have to agree with most other comments on this forum. The lineup is good, but not great, at least for headliners. I have been to Sasquatch for the past three years and none of these have me jumping for joy, as they have in the past. Especially given that both NIN and Ben Harper were there in '06 (but with much anticipated Flaming Lips and Beck)...this time around, bleh. I do look forward to seeing KoL but am very disappointed that some of the other rumors did not pan out i.e. Band of Horses, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Gomez and especially the unlikely rumor of Tool and Pearl Jam...these would have made Sasquatch '09 another epic year. The second tier lineup seems pretty good but I'm not familiar with all bands. Who has some advice on who I cannot miss this year?

Do not miss Explosions in the Sky. Actually, skip them. Everyone should skip them so that there is a smaller crowd when I have my life given meaning again.
