That's a good point........ I just hope (if this rumor is at all true) that the vibe Sasquatch! has had for the past few years isn't ruined by headliners like this....... I'm still having high hopes that the headliners will surprise all of us and be something great that none of us really expected.

That's certainly a valid point, but I think there's something you're not considering: Yes, REM and The Cure and the Flaming Lips existed in the 1990's, but they all started in the 80's and have continued to put out records over the past twenty years. They are consistently GOOD musicians, and they manage to stay relevant -- ESPECIALLY the Lips.

On the other hand, Jane's Addiction's sound is SOLIDLY based in the 90's. It could not have existed in the 80's, nor in this decade. NIN is so firmly a part of the goth industrial whatfuckingever scene of 90's Hot Topic that I am honestly mystified that they have any new fans in 2009. As far as I'm concerned, Sasquatch might as well have booked Marilyn Manson and Limp Bizkit.

I think that comment about it might as well be limp bizkit and marylin manson is going a little bit far. I dont know much about Janes addiction. But nin is very modern, and musically always pushing their limits in how theyre live show is presented. Theyre using the most modern technology with theyre live show. Theyre no longer working for the man. And constantly writing about things very in chune with what the human race is facing right now. Now if the sounds are a little bit too heavy for you, thats one thing. But dont bring them down just because its not your style. If i learned one thing from going to sasquatch the last few years is that not one style is barred from showing, and thats part of the brilliance.

Regarding NIN. I do not like their music very much whatsoever. I do admit their youtube videos make their shows look sick. The sound is very modern though, with their recent albums.

Janes Addiction though: wtf.
Airborne Toxic Event? Sometime around midnight is a great song, but not really that great of a lineup of songs. I could see them starting second on the wookie stage, maybe right after someone like mimicking birds play

I think No Doubt is a possibility. They are touring with Paramore and Bedouin Soundclash. On their site it says they will be playing outdoor ampitheatres starting in May. On 107.7 The End yesterday one of the DJs said the lineup would feature a big band getting back together.

Not saying I'd be excited about this but I feel like it's a good enough possibility to throw it up here.

I think the No Doubt Rumor was squashed, and I think Jane's counts as the reunion.

I think it was squashed when someone said No Doubt was rumored and a hundred people collectively squashed it.......... Will someone humor me and name one band that has crossed-over from Warped Tour to Sasquatch?

Still dont get how it was squashed. No Doubt makes sense from a schedule and "reunited act" standpoint. I dont see why them playing warped in the past means they wouldn't play sasquatch now. If this lineup is supposed to be the most diverse yet I dont think anyone is off limits. I would prefer Janes Addiction over No Doubt though.

I read it was a different MIA, like an 80's reunion band......... Regardless, I was making a bad assumption, because I wanted to get people to stop bringing up No Doubt as a possible headliner. Shame on me.......... I have no doubt, (Pun!!!) that No Doubt won't be on that line-up tomorrow. They absolutely do not fit the Sasquatch! mold as I've said before. If it does happen, then I guess I'm just a big moron.

You're probably right about MIA, I just used Wiki.

No worries about No Doubt, I don't think you're being a moron. No one (I hope so anyway) is looking forward to seeing No Doubt in the line-up.

i think the rumor was squashed because the only day they would be able to play at sasquatch was the day before they are to be in calgary. i couldn't see them going all the way out to the gorge and then catching a plane in the middle of the night in order to make it up to canada in time. also they're doing a seattle show in april i think, so it's probably like a 0.1% chance they'd be at sasquatch.
