I think this web board will blow up near January, but until then, anyone want to speculate on 2009's lineup?
I am guessing the biggest names will be Pearl Jam, Decembrists, Wilco, Stone Temple Pilots, Tool, and the Shins. Others I'm betting will be there, Menomena, Blitzen Trapper, Lupe Fiasco, My Morning Jacket, the Roots, Cat Power, the Tragically Hip, Gomez, and Spoon.
Repeat acts from last year Ghostland Observatory, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, and Ozomatli.

I don't think Ghostland or Ozomatli will be there next year. That would make it 3 years in a row (They were at Sasquatch '07 too). That's a little TOO repetitive.

If Tool's new album is done by next year, I could definately see them at Sasquatch. Pearl Jam is also a good bet. However, I wouldn't count on STP... I doubt they even make it into the new year. I also have a feeling Gogol Bordello will be there next year.

I agree Ozomatli might be skipped, since this year's performance was lame compared to last, and they were minus two of the "energy" band members. But it seemed to be set in stone that they would be there this year, so maybe again next.
In my opinion, Ghostland owes some of their "great live act" to the show they played on the back stage in 07. They blew up after that. They were a lock for this year, yet everyone thought they would play main stage. Making them play opposite of the Flaming Lips UFO show is basically unfair, which is why I see them opening for a headliner on the main next year.

I dont think that Ghostland is big enough to open into one of the headliners and their set woudl be lame if it wasnt dark.
If Ozomatli is back again I wont be on principal alone (only kidding of course but seriously)
Here are my random guesses for next year
Saturday: Rage Against the Machine (they owe us, no NW shows since reunion) The Decemberists MGMT Hot Chip Pepper
Sunday: Wilco Weezer (let me keep dreaming, my buddy got my hopes up last year plus a new album?) The National Rilo Kiley The Shins Justice
Monday: Pearl Jam (Northwest flavor in full force) Tool (a dual headliner day perhaps? See Ben Harper/Flamming Lips and NIN/Bahaus 2006) Vampire Weekend Gogel Bordello The Fratellis Queens of the Stone Age

I would love to see MGMT, Vampire Weekend, The National, and The Kooks at Sasquatch next year. I was planning on seeing The National this year, but the fact they were moved to a smaller stage ruined those plans.
I would also love to see Your Vegas play at Sasquatch next year, but I highly doubt that would happen because they are a fairly small British band that currently lives in New York and have never played Sasuquatch before, but I can always hope.

Yes, I agree it's a bit early to be talking of the line up for next year. But, here is who I'd like to see on next years bill: In no particular order and on no particular stages:
Girl in a Coma Pela Soundgarden (reunion would be awesome, but not holding our breath) Pearl Jam Schoolyard Heroes Justice Pride Tiger Theo and the Skyscrapers The Donnas Devotchka( it's a good bet, they'll be on the bill next year.) The B52's - would be an awesome headliner
Ghostland Observatory- could play the main stage easily opening for another headliner, yes, as long as it's dark, by the time they go on. They've headlined at ACLF before and are easily able to do it. But, yes, it has to be night time
LCD Soundsystem Dame Lady Sovereign Missy Elliott Mute Math The Knife
Siouxie - could definitely headline. She does have a new album out too. Sparta The Prodigy - they have new record coming out. Huski Meghen Toohey - California solo/indie artist Lucid Nation (SF band) The American Professionals (SF band:ex Dead Kennedy's, Gits members) The Birthday Massacre Against Me The Streets The Kills Rage Agains the Machine David Bowie Morissey Nashville Pussy The Reverend Horton Heat Prince Weezer (only cause they have started a tour and will most likely be touring through next year) The 5,6,7,8's. Remember them? The all female band from, Kill Bill the movie. The Dresden Dolls !!! Zombie Girl The Subways Flogging Molly My Bloody Valentine (Could seriously headline)
I guess that's it for now. Pretty good list. imo

I agree, Devotchka should be there, they have only played every other festival this year. Highly likely.
I doubt any of the electronic bands mentioned earlier will be there. Sasquatch has historically frowned upon electronic acts, although LCD and Knife would be great.
I now hear Justice is done touring, whatever. I doubt they are done, but I doubt they play Sasquatch.
Prince and My Bloody Valentine are probably too big for Sasquatch. I still like Pearl Jam though.
How about the Fleet Foxes. They filled in for the National this year after already playing a set, and they are great live. They should be invited back.

TV on the Radio?
Since there is is always a leaning toward Northwest (Portland, Seattle, Vancouver) bands, who has an album scheduled to come out around that time? Decembrists or Shins? New Pornographers or one of their members?

oh man... It's way too early to start talking about it. Now I'll be checking boards and pollstar and band sites instead of trying to get my degree.... Oh well.
Tool? You really think that's a possibility? I would love to see Arcade Fire again. They were the most amazing show i'd seen until the lips this year. amazing....

Agreed. The Arcade Fire was the best single band I've seen in 3 Sasquatch's. I even went to go see them in CO, at Red Rocks 4 months later and then again when they played in Seattle a week after that.
