The Flaming Lips are just about the only band all weekend that I'll be getting down in the pit for. This will be my 4th time seeing them, hoping to touch the hamster ball this time.

I love the symbolism in the show. The eye-shaped screen, the bubble, lazer handz, the smoke machine called kindness.
At the last show I saw, I was amazed at the end when I spied an oversized (fake) orange extension cord running onstage from either side. It was disconnected, and each coupling had a word on it (i forget what they were, blame lucy) but it was totally trippy because my hands (and spine!) had a tingling, electrified feeling from clapping so hard...................and there was this giant extension cord just begging to be plugged in and give me the POWER.
So surreal. mmmn!

That's pretty much it. Their intro when I saw them in September last year, was a naked dancing chick on the digital screen who "gave birth" to them. They basically just enter the stage from her digital vag.
