Well, their music isn't particularly complicated, and every time I've seen them they don't do anything very technically challenging with their instruments. They're good musicians and great performers, whereas other bands are the reverse. As you know I love them, but Dave 1 will not find himself on the Top 10 Guitarists of All Time list ever.

That's like saying Jack White isn't a good guitarist because the White Stripes make simple music...

Both Dave and P are multi-instrumentalists as well as DJ's, and Dave has an amazing and well-trained voice. They're fully aware of the type of music they make, but that doesn't discredit their skills and talents as musicians.

That's a fair point. I've only ever seen the same caliber stuff from either of them though. I'd love to be proven wrong.

Anyway, I don't like being on the side of the argument that is doing Chromeo down. I think we're operating under different definitions of the word "talented" too.

I was just thinking the same thing about Thievery Corporation. They just added a California date on 05/29/11. I'm thinking a Friday night addition might be coming.....I hope.

TVOTR would instantly make Friday not a failure... but as promising as that huge gap in their schedule is, I think chances are slim. it would be so so so awesome, and would actually fit in pretty well with the rest of the loudness, but they are a pretty big name right now, and I just don't see the sasquatch spending the money to add a big name to a fest that is already sold out.

since the lineup dropped I've expected a Neon Indian add (they are on tour with Sleigh Bells), and it could be on Friday. any chance we could see a couple of dance tent acts added? or maybe a late-night show? that would at least give a little diversity to a day that has none right now.
