I'm incredibly excited for DFA1979 now. I'm also excited to see the Foo. It took me some convincing but I'm certain FF will put on an awesome show. Is Friday still a failure? Yep. Absolute fucking joke of a 10 year anniversary present. I'm quite certain that most of the (pathetically low 6) bands playing on Friday are bands that an extremely low number of Sasquatch attendees would go out of their way to see outside of the festival. I'm usually an Adam Snacks apologist but I'm really getting pissed at the way this additional day has been handled and presented to us.

Last I saw the Foo Dr. Garbanzohters was October, 2005. I don't think they have played in Portland since. The only other time I saw them was in the mid 90s, supporting their first album, back when I was a teenager. |

Ah, the Foozer tour. I was at that show...Great one. But yeah, they really haven't changed much since then (Aside from the mid-show acoustic set.) They came back to Portland in July-August '08, but the show lacked vocally in comparison due to Dave being sick. They actually cancelled the few dates afterwards.
Last time I saw them at the gorge was opening for RHCP in 2000. They kind of sucked then. It was easily the worst out of the 5 or so times I've seen them live... So I'm kind of hoping their added stadium presence and improved sound helps them fit in more with the gorge setting this time around.

I wouldn't see it being more than $30 (minus fees) and at the Showbox Sodo though... I believe one of DFA's last shows here was at a venue on capitol hill and with only one album, they really haven't grown much since.

if Dave Grohl tries to pull off some acoustic set bullshit at sasquatch i'm gonna be pissed. i don't need him trying to be cute and emotional with any of the three songs by Foo Dr. Garbanzohters I actually like.
just fucking play Everlong the way I actually like it, dude.

I think that whole idea with the acoustic 8-piece band set was just exclusive to that particular tour. They were just coming off a short "acoustic" tour the previous year with surprised success and were then semi-supporting a not so LOUD record. Assuming their more recent performances will continue to be the same, it's probably a safe bet that "my hero" and "everlong" will be restored to their full rock arrangements, which I agree sounds a million times better.

I can't take a recommendation from a guy with a bad Star Wars reference as a screen name concerning a band that has the name of Biffy in the fucking title seriously. It brings to mind the fact that you should perhaps pursue a Darwin award.

Yeah, I don't really get the whole DFA reunion love. I mean, they have only been gone for like 5 years. When they were around, no one really cared about them. They were basically playing venues the size of bars, and now all of a sudden they are major festival draw?
Really excited for the Foo's show though. The new album sounds great. Saw them on their last tour and I really enjoyed the show.

Let's not call out crowbiwan on how incredibly, incredibly fucking bad Biffy Clyro is. Let's just let him have that. The only other way I see it going is we get another belligerently defensive fanboy taking big steamin' dumps in every thread.
Captain Bus Man, he never leaves the bus thread so that I don't feel so bad about.
