They aren't doing stand up, at least they weren't when I saw them. It was a variety show; they just pretend that they are not actors, but rather that they are the actual characters from the show. It was pretty hit or miss in my opinion. But if you want to get taught how to roll a joint by Ricky, then that's where you should be.

I've heard good things about the many, many appearances they've made here in town. That said, I haven't actually gone, so that says something.

Fuckin canadians. They can be fun. In 2009 we were next to a huge group of them and like most canadians I've met they were die hard wrestling fans. My best friend revealed to them that I'm a ring announcer and I was subsequently forced into introducing them all ring announcer style. It was funny because they all had their own fake wrestling names, weight, etc. The full monty. Pretty entertaining stuff. I swear that one of them was really John Favreau moonlighting as a drunken canadian wrestling fan. Ooo Sasquatch memories.

Would any of you pay for a ticket/wristband if you had only this many bands in mind?
Fri: DFA79/Foo Dr. Garbanzohters
Sat: Antlers/Radio Dept./ probably Bright Eyes (?)
Sun: Beach House/Flaming Lips/Flying Lotus (assuming no conflict)
Mon: Rodrigo y Gabriela/Black Mountain/Deerhunter/MSTRKRFT/Wilco

I would probably do more research on some bands before making a decision, if the main reason you are going is for the music. Personally, I had my ticket when I only knew about FF and that isn't even a draw. For me, it's all about the experience and seeing friends from all over North America that make the trip.

Do the math. Going to each of those bands seperately is definetly going to cost way more than the four day wristband. Especially with gas, hotel accomodations, etc.

Going for the music and meeting like-minded people, not so much the party. I've been researching with haste, given that tickets are selling 300% faster than last year (apparently, says a 107.9 employee on the coachella msg board).
So far discovered Antlers, Radio Dept, Bright Eyes, and Aloe Blacc. Perhaps this is a good sign so far? There's probably more gems to uncover... Guided By Voices, anyone?

That's definitely worth noting. One trip for all these bands.

Its definetly as much if not more about the atmosphere and setting than the music. I also purchased my ticket when only foo were confirmed. As far as other gems...check out Sleigh Bells. If you have never been to the Gorge then stop thinking, buy your ticket, and start planning. There are not words beautiful enough to describe the feeling you get when you over the hill and see the concert area for the first time. Its awe inspiring. I can't wait to see it again. Its been two years

I feel sorry for people who let the lineup sway them from attending. They obviously either haven't experienced this festival before and now probably never will, or just don't "get" what Sasquatch is all about. If you think it's all about the music then you are just dead wrong. I've always looked at it as a weekend long gathering of incredible people looking to have an incredible time meeting and interacting (ok fine, partying their faces off) with each other...and oh yea there's a shit ton of incredible bands thrown in as a bonus!

This is a lie. I saw all of Zach then headed down to the mainstage, got a decent spot down front mid Decemberists, and got there about 10 minutes before cliff sex.

Personally im not going to hold it against anyone who hasn't been there and isn't familar with sasquatch. I was drawn there for the first time by the music. I had never heard of sasquatch or the gorge when I was visiting my cousin in 2006(I think). I looked for concerts happening in the area lo and behold, NIN, one of my favorite bands was playing at sasquatch. That was all I needed. Straight up bought a ticket and fell in love. I actually have goosepoops right now just thinking of it. That show was so godamn epic. I've now been back 4 additional times and my stories inspired dozens of people from back home to see for themselves what this incredible experience is about. I still can't believe Janes Addiction headlined above NIN. That electric light fence nin had blew my mind and then I saw Tool there 3 months later that was the best fucking show of my life. I can only hope that some of the bands playing this year have light shows that compare. Does anyone know if any of them do?
