So Billboard is a pretty reputable source. They list the following headliners

Lineup Includes: Prince, Beck, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, Neko Case, Lucinda Williams

I wouldn't believe this... I know it's a reputable source. But still. With tickets being only $80 there is no way they have enough money to afford Rage and Prince. Maybe they will grab one of the two, most likely Rage. But not both. However, I highly doubt either will be happening.
Either way, I am most likely going to Bumbershoot.

Well minus the rumors this is my prediction of headlining shows...

Mid-Day Shows

1. Neko Case
Lucinda Williams

2. Hip-Hop act (Ludacris replacement)
supporting hip-hop act

3. All-American Rejects
Paramore

Night Shows

1. Anti-Flag
Stone Temple Pilots
(unannounced rock group)

2. Band of Horses
The Black Keys
Beck

3. Another headliner w/ 2 supports

Obviously I, with some minor intent, left room for Rage on the 1st night main stage show (wishful thinking for sure). Also I'd infer that Prince is a possible guy for the 3rd night (though he seems far too pricey considering the line-up thus far). I'm not sure if Jakob Dylan, Bedouin Soundclash or The Walkman fit into one of these line-ups or not. Ingrid Michaelson COULD fit in w/ Case and Williams but mid-day shows don't usually have more than 2 artists. I suppose Dylan could be put in the Band of Horses spot with them placed on a smaller stage though I don't see that happening. I also hope that Blitzen Trapper doesn't conflict with anyone.

Personally if Dylan went against Prince I go see Dylan (I know sacrilege). But call me picky.

I also think of it from a radio station sponsor point of view. I'd think that The End would sponsor Beck's night and KISW STP's BUT Anti-Flag is not a KISW band (but both STP and Anti-Flag fit into The End's routine). Could both nights be sponsored by The End? OR maybe KISW will sponsor the STP night and Anti-Flag will end up on a side stage with no sign of Rage anywhere.

There's just so much talent this year. I complained about the increased ticket prices since they were raised above $15 but this could be the year it all seems worth it. I'm definitely getting my 3-day pass before the August deadline.

Whether you like them or not, Stone Temple Pilots are a headlining group.

Also, A Tribe Called Quest is playing Vancouver on August 30. Sooo... I am guessing ATCQ are gonna headling the third night, Sept 1. So Beck will play the August 30th, STP August 31st (which is confirmed) and ATCQ September 1st.
That is, unless Rage and/or Prince get added. if Rage get added, I could see them playing either after STP ir ATCQ. If Prince gets added I could see him playing after Beck or ATCQ.
However, I really doubt Prince and Rage are going to be added.

Here's my two cents:

Lucinda Williams/Neko Case I could see either playing a mid day headlining set or headlining the Mural Ampitheatre stage, which is typically alt-country type bands.

If Rage is there Anti-Flag will probably open seeing since Anti-Flag announced that they would be on tour this summer with Rage.

I would not be surprised if Filter shows up as the opener for STP since they are supposedly supporting them on there tour.

Black Keys have opened for Beck before so that is a possibility.

Prince, probably doesn't need an opener, if he is there.

All-American Rejects and Paramore will be headlining I would guess (I don't know how they got so big, but they did.) however, with all the big bands coming to Bumbershoot this year it would have to be during the day.

Having said that last year it was hip hop one night, rock one night and pop one night so I guess we'll see. Beck, STP, Rage, but then where would the Purple One fit in? Which starts to make me think that Rage and Prince might have just been a mistake all along..........July 15th it will all be clear........

Man the last 2 years I've seriously considered making the trip down to Bumbershoot (especially last year with Kings of Leon and BRMC). But Labour Day weekend is not the ideal time. Everywhere is crazy busy. If the Black Keys, Beck, The Walkmen, and Band of Horses are all on the same day I will have to journey down for that day for sure.

Man the BRMC/Kings of Leon show was absolutely fantastic. Then I wandered over to a smaller stage and watched Rose Hill Drive. That was an incredible day of rock and roll!

AAR and Paramore wont headline a night (I don't think). It'll be STP and Beck w/ either another headliner or a Hip-Hop show. I think the pop show will be a mid-day thing (the kiddies gotta get home early). But then again Bumbershoot headlined BOTH Panic at the Disco AND Fergie last year... ::)

Since when did the poopershoot lineup become more of a hot topic than Sasquatch?

This site only gets a couple posts a night though, so I am cool with it.

Well there's little left to speculate about Sasquatch. Bumbershoot is in its most interesting stage. People love to talk about festival rumors. I imagine most of us have an idea of whats going down next week anyhow.

Notice I didn't say they would headline at night, but during the day, I guess that's not headlining, what I mean is a mainstage slot during the day, so I think we are in agreeance on that......however, like you pointed out Panic at the Disco headlined last year so who knows........I would actually prefer them to headline and put some of the bands that I want to see on smaller stages. Like last year during Wu Tang I was out watching the Frames and Ted Leo on a smaller stage it was great, smaller crowd more intimate, awesome show!!!!

Well fine I guess we're agree to agree then!!

I also think that smaller stages are great but I imagine only groups like !!!, The Walkmen, Bedouin Soundclash, etc. will play those. Band of Horses and Black Keys are main stage material (at least considering Bumbershoot's history). That said, I really hope the Walkmen play a side stage... that'd be a blast.
