I've held this opinion of Seattle sports long before I moved to Portland. Ever been stuck watching the 3-12 Seahawks playing for a higher draft pick instead of watching two teams Dr. Garbanzohting for a playoff spot? And I've never even lived in Washington. Regional, fucking, coverage.
I'll see you on the pitch. |

Haha I was just taking a drunk cheap shot at you based on your location and my disposition to hate you because of your soon-to-be MLS team

I know, I had to defend both of my Portland allegiances, location and soccer. That is why I said I'll see you on the "pitch."

Let's talk about how fucking annoying American soccer fans are with their slang:
-"match" -"kits" -"pitch"
Just because the sport is dominated by foreigners does not mean that you must adopt their language. Kits? You call them kits? Sound more like children.

Jokes upon jokes upon jokes, this is turning out to be a great board day of Inceptional proportions. I can't even tell, I am still joking right now?
In all seriousness, good all around activity!

Im so tired of hearing sportscenter saying that the saints beat themselves. We scored 41 points, hasselback threw for 4 TD's.
The Seahawks beat the Saints.

I prefer this to ESPN trying to make Americans like soccer by using other sports' terminologies, the MLS changing rules for no reason (remember the old penalty shot in the first season of MLS?) and American soccer commentators. There is not a single decent American soccer commentator. I'll take kits and pitches all day if it means I can listen to Martin Tyler during the World Cup.

When the Sounders entered the MLS in '09 they tried using the old Sonics commentator and it failed miserably. He didn't know the rules, the terminology, or even the players names. Last year they snatched up a BBC futbol commentator named Arlo White and he's been absolutely adored by Seattle ever since he got here. He even called a few World Cup games and provided commentary for at least one British transmission of a Seahawks game.
...and I just realized you may very well live in or around Seattle and already know all of this.
