I appreciate that aspect of canning beer. I'm simply coming from a taste standpoint. I'm convinced that canning high quality beers negatively affects the taste of it. Does it in reality? I dunno. I just find it weird.

I get it. I have heard many people have that stance. Yesterday I had some Sierra Nevada Pale in cans and my brother and I were discussing how we thought that it tasted better in the can (than in bottle not on tap).

To be fair, the only craft beers I've had out of a can was this Wingman IPA and that Old Chub shit. God damn that was one of the grossest beers I've ever had.

Yeah, worst beer from Oskar Blues by far. Any of their other stuff may leave a better taste in your mouth regarding canned beers (def leave a better taste in your mouth for...beer taste )

So FD and some other lovely people were kind enough to leave me some beer after the BBQ. Question: is the lagunitas rich copper ale supposed to have sediment?

You've got yourself an old bottle of "The KRONIK" there sir.
So I'll take that as a yes. And yeah FD I'm enjoying one right now!
That was a no. Some beers have floaters (yeast) due to the fact that they're bottle conditioning (fermentation in the bottle). Lagunitas Censored aka The Kronik aka Rich Copper Ale is not bottle conditioned. You drank or are drinking old beer.
