Bacon and doughnuts sounds good. Bacon and doughnut beer doesn't sound good.

I'd try it. I was really surprised how much I loved their chipotle ale, so I'll give this one a whirl if it ever crosses my path.

Even Bacon Kevin Bacon bust agrees. Liquid bacon covered doughnut is a no go.

Had my first Old Dominion Brewery Oak Barrel Stout last night with dinner. Very well done beer. Pleasant dry roasty finish with a hint of vanilla on the head. I'm glad I have two more sitting in the fridge.
The beers that get shipped in the Micro of the Month club are usually hit or miss. OD Brewing is definitely a hit.

Hermannator Ice Bock- AMAZING Unibroue- I'll take trois pistoles every time, Raftman is also excellent, and Ephemere (the cassis one, not the apple one- apples are for jerks) Lagunitas- One of my top consistent breweries; never had anything of their's I dont' like. Hop Stoopid is amazing. Also, calgary co-op always carries lagunitas and has for years. Big Rock- Shouldn't be known for doing beer; most overrated craft beer ever. And I can say that, because I too am from Calgary.
One good thing about living in Edinburgh? Home of Innis & Gunn. The Rum Cask version is absolutely amazing and has on at least two occasions caused my frontal cortex to stop working Oh, that and being in britain has led to me drinking a *lot* of cider. And a lot of gin. And Pimm's cup. Not all together though
and since I have no fancy beer in my room, how about a picture of my new "pint glass". It fits 4 bottles with room at the top for some frothy delicious head.

I gotta say Rogue lost a little bit of respect from me after seeing that... And they're one of my favorite breweries.

Rogues is pretty much a "when in Rome" brewery for me. Rome being Newport or one of their other establishments. I am currently drinking a Mt. Tabor Stout watching the Sounders Community Shield game!
My aunt and uncle gave me that Bacon beer with the warning of "i heard it tastes like shit"

Cape Ann Brewery (MA) Fisherman's Navigator (Doppelbock). Wow! The february shipment has been fantastic. A wonderful interpretation of a doppelbock. Nice amber color with a quickly diminishing creamy head. Strong caramel malt taste as expected with a roasty finish that stayed on the tongue for quite some time after the last sip. Definitely didn't taste like shit.

I bought a bottle of the Maple Bacon ale for novelty's sake (after they changed their original stance that you had to buy it by the case, cash only, $156) and brought it to a new year's party to share. Granted most people were drinking hard alcohol, no one who tried it had more than 3-4 ounces of the stuff and I ended up dumping about 1/3 of the bottle. It's a novelty and not horrible, but hard to drink more than a tasting size.
As far as Voodoo goes, you don't just have to put cold bacon on a donut. You can put stale cereal on one instead!

The head brewer/owner of Bayern Brewing in Missoula is tapping a 14% cask aged maibock firkin at the bar around the corner from my house at 7:00. Looking forward to getting my firkin drink on.
