That IPA was awesome! It was from Swans in Victoria and was one of the cask's they had available.

Sweet, I haven't heard of Swans. I'm always looking for new breweries to try. I'm also planning a brewery touring trip to Victoria later this summer, so I'll add it to the list!

The Canoe Club has some tasty beers as well.

This reminds me of my (other) favorite days of the year!

http://www.gcbf.com/

The Great Canadian Beer Festival! The saddest day every year is the day right after when you have to wait another whole year.

I usually find a good couple of beers to try out later while we're there, although I usually start forgetting which ones are good 'round 3.

Any other victorians/vancouverites go to this? I love how even though it's a couple thousand people drinking beer all day you never see any Dr. Garbanzohts. Everyone's just so happy!

So my cousin that lives in Brooklyn sent my hot wife some Brooklyn beers as a graduation present since my hot wife just graduated from veterinary school. These bad boys are bottle re-fermented ales and have an alcohol content of 9%. The first one is their original ale and the second one is an ale brewed with honey and citrus. They look amazing. We are going to crack them open and watch the new South Park. Cheers to all of you Sasquatchers!

Do you mean the Canoe Brewpub??? If you do, you should bring some bottles down! Or even from Swans or Spinnakers. I went to all three a few summers ago and would kill for some beer.

Ohhh. Sign me up! We're flying in on the 25th and heading to Yakima on the 26th. I'd love to spend a few hours celebrating beer in Seattle!

It seems Calgary is finally joining the current millenium when it comes to craft beer. We still have a long way to go, but it's a start.

I'm pretty excited that the new places mentioned in the article are all within walking distance of where I live.
