I can't drink PBR. The metal shavings make my throat all bloody.

Whoopsie I can't tell if you are joking because you strike me as the kind of guy that would drink beer out of a can - which you're welcome to do, but you should start another thread to talk about it if you're going to talk about it because nothing is more off-topic in a thread called 'The Craft Beer Thread' than Coors.

Oregon has some of my favorite breweries, although I've never visited any of them. One of my favorites is Bridgeport. Their IPA is one of the best balanced I've ever had. For those like me who love IPAs it's not knock-your-socks-off hoppy, but I still recommend it. For those interested in the more hoppy varieties try their Hop Czar.

You hit it out of the park as far as a well-balanced IPA goes. I think that's the first thought that came to my mind when I first tried that one. Fairly priced 6 packs too!

I'll swear by Rogue. Dead Guy is a staple, but their Brutal Bitter is fucking delicious too. They have just dozens of different beers, and I never get tired of trying some crazy new shit like their Juniper Ale, which - yup - tastes like juniper but it's so damn tasty.

Have you tried their "Santa's Private Reserve?" Pretty good seasonal if I may say so myself.

Yeah, also excellent. They're probably the most well-known brewery out here, and they have some great beers, but they're pretty conventional as well. The smaller breweries do some unique brews.

This is a pet peeve of mine, and I know it was probably just an honest slip, but you reminded me of this comic that I thought I'd share with the board: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/literally

And just so I keep things on topic: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/beer

I read this listening to the Go! Team's new album, and it was a perfect soundtrack, somehow. I loved the Frank Zappa quote.

i'm breaking in the new year at Atlanta Brewing Company's brewery. They're hosting a big NYE party complete with all their beers on tap. Only 25 bucks for a night of drinking like 9 different types of beer.

They just won silver at the Carolina Championship of Beer competition for their Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter.

If any of you ever get down to Atlanta, check that place out.
