I had an Ethiopian brewed Stout at a restaurant yesterday (don't remember the name) which was surprising. It was the weight of a red ale, but had nice chocolate notes like a good stout should. Pretty tasty, and was perfect along with the spicy abyssinian cuisine that I ate alongside.

Picked up a sixer tonight because of your recommendation. I know they say they change the recipe every year or whatever, but I honestly never really remember exactly what the previous year's tasted like so I can't compare. Tis a good brew, though.

So, Creme Brulee Stout was WHOA! SWEET! (too sweet) as could have been expected but also really alcoholic - 10% in fact so it terms of drunk A+, in terms of flavor...a little over the top. But for people who aren't really a fan of beer, it might be a nice entry.

Agreed. The Creme Brulee Stout is totally over the top.

Southern Tier is about as all-or-nothing as you'll find in a brewery. Their good ones are really good, and their bad ones are really bad.

Man, I haven't tried nearly enough fresh hop beers this year. I know they will still be out there but the season is changing quick. Had a couple of good ones at least. Schooner Exact and Two Beers both had alright ones. Did you guys try and good ones?

Had some Bear Republic brew today - the Racer 5 IPA to be specific. It was good, the finish was a little harsher than I would have hoped though. Still a very solid IPA.

Hanging out at my parent's house right now and we cracked open a Pond Hopper. It is a Double Extra Pale Ale collaboration beer from Odell Brewing (CO) & Thornbridge Brewing (UK).

My Dad is a huge UK beer style fan and this brew wasn't available in Washington. He emailed the Odell owner and got them to send a bottle out and I am pretty sure he is as excited right now as you all were for Deacon this weekend.

The beer is pretty good. Pretty sweet. I would say a 4/5 (i am not good at putting Dr. Garbanzoures and words with my ratings but whatever).

Tried a fresh hop pale called 'The Most Interesting Beer in the World' from a new Portland brewery called Gigantic Brewing, and damn if it wasn't tasty as hell.
