Okay, I'm going to Portland for Xmas, and I have very limited time to enjoy Portland. So which two breweries should I visit there, and which 2 beers should I have at each brewery?

Well, you could check out the Rogue Distillery. They make their whiskey there.

There's a place called Apex on SE 12th and Division that has like fifty taps. Kill all birds with one stone and just spend an afternoon there.

I can imagine doing that.

I'm feeling like this thread is going to go the way of the longboarding thread.

Personally, I'm a big Porter and Stout fan. I can drink just about everything, but I have an affinity for the darker beers.

But now that it's the Winter, I'll be drinking
North Coast's Old Rasputin and the Young's Double Chocolate Stout (not a craft) with increased regularity

Any kind of IPA holds the key to my heart. Doubles, imperials, blacks....omgahhhh

I know it's the hip brewery to be a fan of but I absolutely love Stone Brewing. They're the ultimate brewery for hop heads and really pack some intense flavors into their beers. Anyone who wants the best buzz ever needs to try their Double Bastard Ale that they release seasonally during the fall/winter. It's basically their Arrogant Bastard Ale on steroids, and packing a whopping 10.5% ABV.

I used to be huge into the dark beers, but nowadays only a few stouts and even fewer porters do it for me. When they're good though, they're fucking AWESOME. My friend left an Old Rasputin in my fridge last week and I'm debating drinking it or not. I can't remember if I've tried it before or not but I've heard it's pretty intense.

I miss Lagunitas' series of Frank Zappa beers. Those were some of the tastiest, most unique brews I've ever tasted.

Lagunitas is hands down my favorite brewery. Also there's some really delicious stuff from the Lompoc brewery (special love for the Lompoc Special Draft, or LSD).

I fucking love Lagunitas. They just released a new "wheat beer for hop-heads" beer that I've been meaning to try. I might just pick up a bottle after work tonight.

I live in Montana and there are some great breweries over here as well. If you ever get a chance, pick up a beer from Blackfoot or Kettlehouse

Oregon has some of my favorite breweries, although I've never visited any of them. One of my favorites is Bridgeport. Their IPA is one of the best balanced I've ever had. For those like me who love IPAs it's not knock-your-socks-off hoppy, but I still recommend it. For those interested in the more hoppy varieties try their Hop Czar.

Ooh, I do not enjoy Bridgeport beers. Or New Belgium, for that matter - there's just a weird taste to all of their beers. Bridgeport doesn't have the body to support the flavor.

I'll swear by Rogue. Dead Guy is a staple, but their Brutal Bitter is fucking delicious too. They have just dozens of different beers, and I never get tired of trying some crazy new shit like their Juniper Ale, which - yup - tastes like juniper but it's so damn tasty.
