Next thing you know they'll attempt a remake of RoboCop or Lethal Weapon.

A remake of Robocop would make a ton more sense than that. Why on earth would you remake Point Break?? That movie was all about Keanu and Swayze, the movie itself was absolutely ridiculous, even at the time.

But it still kicks ass. I love everything about that flick. The shit dialogue, the mediocre acting, Gary Busey, the action scenes. So good.
Yes, a RoboCop re-boot would not be out of place at all. But it's fine the way it is as well.

Oh totally. The original is beyond awesome, but it was still ridiculous. It's funny, I didn't know that Kathryn Bigelow directed it.
...and yeah, a Robocop reboot wouldn't tarnish the legacy of the original any more than the two sequels we already have did. And it would undoubtedly do very well at the box office.
Really what the world needs is Paul Verhoeven back behind a camera. That dude is a sick fuck but he made some of the greatest action films of all time.

Fo Sho. I loved Starship Troopers. But like you said with RoboCop, it was tarnished by the sequels.
Speaking of sequels, wasn't there a sequel where RoboCop had the ability to fly? I think I saw it but can't seem to recall that one.

Wasn't that RoboCop 3? Who the fuck knows, because who the fuck wants to watch a PG-13 RoboCop movie?

Sounds about right and true enough on the PG-13 thing. As if that scene in the original of the melting guy being hit by the car isn't one of the best movie deaths.

Point Break is one my all-time favorite action movies. it's over-the-top, ridiculous, and absolutely fantastic. Swayze, Reeves and Busey were never better than they were in that film.
it'll be a real shame if a remake actually happens.
