When I saw the New World, it was at my local art-house cinema, by myself on a Tuesday night, and I was so excited. Then I was bored out of my mind for damn near three hours.

But since then I've read so much about how that's such a brilliant movie and it's on everyones top of the decade lists. I'm usually patient with slow movies. So it must have been an off night for me. But I still haven't picked it up since then.

Anyway, now I know more what to expect from Tree of Life. And I hear it has dinosaurs.

Best Animated Movie of 2010:
Totally has to be Toy Story 3.

While I thoroughly enjoyed Despicable Me and How to Train Your Dragon, Toy Story 3 was infinitely better. What is it that they put in the water over at Pixar? Every film they make is incredible... having said that, I still think Cars 2 will be a lemon.

As for the new Shrek movie... did they really need to make a 4th? Or a 3rd or 2nd, for that matter? Tragic.

Toy Story 3 was easily my favorite animated movie since WALL-E (which is my all-time favorite animated movie). Topped the other two movies by a long shot...soooo amazing!

The Black Swan sucks, don't see it, don't talk about it, just forget it.

Why would any of us give a shit about Natalie Portman's character??? She was actually frustrating to watch/listen to.

But the best part of this film was watching it in a theatre full of uncomfortable people who somehow got it in their minds that they were going into a Friday night blockbuster. Y'know, your typical big hollywood slow descent into madness themed film based around the ballet?. So much out of place laughter, it was great.

The dancing was also great, like really great. And there were some cool Lynch-like scary parts, but possibly I was hating the movie so much that it was simply the best of the bad.

Are you an Aronofsky fan, Friendly D?

Either way I'm not going to be able to take your word on that. I can't wait to see Black Swan.

I am an Aronofsky fan and I also couldn't wait to see it either. It's not the worst movie out there, and it is totally watchable, but not all that good.

I'm the guy who defends "The Fountain", not the best movie, but a lot of really great things about it in both the story and production.
