Holy shit was Django Unchained amazing. Christoph Waltz is one of the most enjoyable actors that Tarantino has ever had in his movies.

On the FLAMING FUCKING LIPSide, Texas Chainsaw 3D will easily be a contender for worst movie of 2013.

I really didn't care for Django at all but that was to be expected. I could do without that movie being nominated - besides Christoph Waltz <3. I think the Academy did a really good job with their nominations this year.

Edit: Ahh, I see. SLP is in it for Adapted. Awesome. Moonrise Kingdom for original, for me!

What was it about Django you did not like?

Just got out of Zero Dark Thirty. Meh. I mean it was good, but so was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and that didn't win best picture.

I don't even know who I'm rooting for anymore. I think of the nominees, the one with the most balls was Les Mis. The Master is the movie that I've thought of the most, and I probably enjoyed watching Moonrise Kingdom more than anything else this year. Those might be my top three.

So uh...has anyone seen Amour yet? It hasn't settled yet (although I've spent a lot of time letting it sink in, it's almost impossible to not do this), but I'm pretty sure it's my favorite movie of the year and it's likely that I will never watch it again. If you've ever been interested in Haneke but never connected with his movies, this will change that. It's everything great about Haneke combined with some of the most heartbreaking humanity I've ever seen in a movie.

I wish I could talk about it without using a bunch of hyperbole but it just completely blew me away.

JJ Abrams "set" to direct 7th Star Wars movie:

http://www.thewrap.com/movies/article/jj....exclusive-74596

I put it in quotes because:

... an individual with knowledge of the production told TheWrap.

So it might not be true. But if it is, I am cautiously optimistic.

In that case, fuck yeah. After the Abrams Star Trek movie I became convinced he'd be much better for the Star Wars franchise.

JJ needs to fuck off. Last thing we need is a sci-fi Apatow homogenizing everything we grew up loving.

In the words of my brother in law, "J.J. Abrams doing the new Star Wars? At least we'll be able to answer a question that has until now been only theoretical: exactly how many lens flares can one get off of a lightsaber in full motion?"

Anyone seen Don Coscarelli's John Dies At The End yet? It's no masterpiece but I found it completely enjoyable. It's got a great intro and look at this poster!

I don't have anything major against JJ Abrams, but the fact he has his hands on both Star Trek and Star Wars doesn't sit well with me.
We could be crossing the streams here.

Total protonic reversal, dude.

It could be very bad.
