I thoroughly enjoyed the new Bond film, despite the fact the plot was heavily borrowed from Charlies Angels: Full Throttle.

In the Daniel Craig James Bond era, I'd rank this one #2. While I got a major kick out of all the throwback Bond references, it just wasn't on the same level as Casino Royale in terms of quality. Still, it's much better than Quantum of Solance and probably the 3rd best James Bond film in the past 30 years.

I agree it's the second best Daniel Craig Bond, but in my books that's not saying much given that it only has to be a smidge better than Quantum of Solace to achieve that. 3rd best James Bond film in 30 years? I have to disagree completely on that. Casino Royale is probably in the top 3-5, but Skyfall is still not as good as most of the Brosnan bond movies in my opinion.

Let's keep in mind which Bond films came out in the past 30 years...

Skyfall, Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale, Die another Day, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World i.s not Enough, Goldeneye, License to Kill, The Living Daylights, A View to a Kill, Octopussy and Never Say Never Again.

Apart from Casino Royale and Goldeneye, the past 30 years has been an especially bad time for the Bond series. Pierce Brosman, as charming as he was as Bond, only made 1 film that wasn't terrible. In terms of quality, Brosman's films are sandwiched between Dalton's The Living Daylights and License to Kill.

in hindsight, that was an unfair comment to Dalton... The Living Daylights is one of the more underrated Bond films.

Argo was pretty great ya. Better then I expected for sure, although you can definitely see where it goes from fairly factual account of events to over the top, made for the big screen action scene.

Yeah, I really liked Argo but I agree with Fox. The last hour or so, while really intense, were pretty ridiculous and over the top.

Although it's a shame that there are no Latino actors working anymore that Ben Affleck has to take the lead role.

The new Bond stinks. It isn't even a Bond movie. What in the fuck, Sam Mendes?

Word. There is literally a zillion action scenes in that movie and one of them is sledding down a mountain on a motherfucking cello whilst machine gunning people!

This is my opinion of the new incarnation of Bond. No panache. Jason Bourne has ruined James Bond.

Though this one was certainly a step up from the abortion that was Quantum of Buttholes.

Am I the only person in the world who LOVED Tomorrow Never Dies?? Man, that is a quintessential Bond movie in every regard. Love it!
