KY, I mean absolutely no disrespect at all, but you completely missed the entire point of this film :-/

What was the point? I haven't seen it but the few reviews I've read all said that they didn't really know what to make of it.

Sitting down to watch a movie. It's gonna be Children of Men unless someone can call out a better suggestion in the next ten minutes.

Can it be illegally obtained?

I'd suggest downloading "Cell 211" if you're ok with subtitles.

I'm fine with subtitles, and I'm cool with illegally downloading movies. Only trouble is I'm so dumb when it comes to downloading things illegally that I have pretty much no idea how to make it happen. Looking into it, though.

Do you have Netflix? I could try to suggest something I know they have (although their foreign section on the Canadian site (not sure about American) is really good so they might even have it there).

Enjoy!

I could give a brief synopsis if you want, but personally I like to walk into movies blind from time to time...

That's kind of what I was hoping to do, actually. I would have been walking into Children of Men more or less blind, but I'm in the mood for something completely unexpected and unfamiliar so I thought I'd see if anyone (okay, actually just you) had a suggestion. I found a place where I can stream it for free and it's buffering as we speak.

I love Children of Men too! But sometimes it's nice to try something new.

(and, by the way, my Netflix suggestion would have been "The Tree" starring Charlotte Gainsbourg, which is vastly different from Cell 211)

I THOUGHT that I had Cell 211 buffering, but it turns out I had the TRAILER for Cell 211 buffering. Like I said, I'm an idiot at this kind of thing.

So I ended up watching Children of Men. That film had me in the palm of its hand within the first ten minutes by playing King Crimson in one of the opening scenes; by the time I saw them re-creating the artwork for Pink Floyd's Animals, it was a done fucking deal. I loved it. Very much.

[spoiler=Children of Men]Also any film that kills off Julianne Moore in the first reel is cool with me.

Also I fucking love Michael Caine. It's already 11:30pm but I think I might watch The Man Who Would Be King before I go to sleep.

I thoroughly enjoyed the new Bond film, despite the fact the plot was heavily borrowed from Charlies Angels: Full Throttle.

In the Daniel Craig James Bond era, I'd rank this one #2. While I got a major kick out of all the throwback Bond references, it just wasn't on the same level as Casino Royale in terms of quality. Still, it's much better than Quantum of Solance and probably the 3rd best James Bond film in the past 30 years.

I agree it's the second best Daniel Craig Bond, but in my books that's not saying much given that it only has to be a smidge better than Quantum of Solace to achieve that. 3rd best James Bond film in 30 years? I have to disagree completely on that. Casino Royale is probably in the top 3-5, but Skyfall is still not as good as most of the Brosnan bond movies in my opinion.

I didn't realize you'd never seen Children of Men when you asked for recs otherwise I would have said to just watch it, so I'm glad you got the chance to anyway. I haven't seen it in a couple years but I think I might rewatch it this week too.

Still take a look around the interwebs for Cell 211, I know it's on there 'cause one of my coworkers downloaded the other day on my recommendation.
