It's about as opposite of Tim & Eric as can possibly be, and is a very trying movie to watch all of the way though, but was very worth it.

I Dr. Garbanzoured about as much. Heidecker's a weird fucker, for sure, but that weirdness takes on a lot of different forms. Did you hear that Heidecker & Wood album? What the fuck was up with that?

That's what I mean. Obviously the Tim & Eric shit isn't going to work in any context other than its own, so when he does something like Heidecker & Wood his inherent weirdness makes something as inherently un-weird as that album is seem absolutely fucking bizarre.
And then there's Eric Wareheim's other career as a music video director...

Also the videos he made for Major Lazer had me entirely convinced that I was a Major Lazer fan. Until I heard the album.

That was probably what duped me into seeing it, James Murphy listed in the cast. Anyway, the kids we followed in Kids had way more value as human beings than these twenty something hipster twats do. I just wish I didn't waste 45 minutes trying to decide if my gut instinct from the first scene was right. |

KY, I mean absolutely no disrespect at all, but you completely missed the entire point of this film

No worries, that can happen. I was waiting for someone to see it, and to hear their opinion on it. I didn't stick this one all the way out so I have no idea if I coud have got more from it or if there could have been some payoff by the end. But during fest time, if I think I could have been seeing something better I get more angstsy than usual when I watch something I find to be crappy. Anyway, what I did see was not weird, dark or hilarious to me as you described it. Simply put, I found it boring and that's why I eventually left. And I'm sure a large part of that has to do with that I'm not very familiar with Tim Heidecker, and I don't think I gave a shit about whatever satire he was going for about hipsters.

Yea I was going to ask if you were familiar with his other work, which played a huge role in why I found the movie so fascinating. I had a strange drunk night to myself at home last night, so the movie was pretty perfect for my situation. I honestly can't blame you for getting bored while watching it at a film festival.

Also, if you're familiar with William Basinski's Disintegration Loops, various cuts of it are played throughout the movie, which was all kinds of awesome.
Also, Gayngs and James Murphy. WIN |

The Disintegration Loops in that trailer gave me chills. I want to see this now. I wasn't going to because I trust KY's judgment, but you know what, fuck KY's judgment when William Basinski is involved.

Hey, I do remember liking the soundtrack. And in fact I even put off getting up and leaving until the end of the scene when they were riding bikes down the street 'cause I liked the music.
You'll probably like the film anyway Drew. One thing I noticed when talking to people during the fest was that guys seemed to like it a lot more than women.

To be honest, I rarely tell people my opinion of films during the festival 'cause film festival opinions can get very skewed. My judgement during the whole process can be clouded by so many factors, so I normally wait until after the dust has settled to let people know what I liked and didn't like. For instance, the day I saw The Comedy it was film number 3 of 6 for the day, and I had only slept one hour before heading to the festival from working an overnight shift. The first two films I saw before it were some of the best ones I saw all festival and it was only day 2 of the whole thing. It really was heavily overshadowed by the films beforehand.
Looking back, it wasn't that bad, I was just mainly bored and upset that I had picked that movie over 2 others I could have only seen that day. Seen in a different setting or time, I might have enjoyed it more or at least watched it all the way through and had more of an informed opinion.

Little known fact: Pea grew up with musicals. I've seen a lot. I'm fucking stoked for Les Mis.

I grew up with the French, and am also stroked for Les Mis. I didn't actually grow up with the French, but I'm a sucker for musicals, Anne Hathaway, period drama, Anne Hathaway, and the French.

I thoroughly enjoyed the new Bond film, despite the fact the plot was heavily borrowed from Charlies Angels: Full Throttle.
In the Daniel Craig James Bond era, I'd rank this one #2. While I got a major kick out of all the throwback Bond references, it just wasn't on the same level as Casino Royale in terms of quality. Still, it's much better than Quantum of Solance and probably the 3rd best James Bond film in the past 30 years.
