V/H/S was soooo fucking bad. Not even worth going into all the ways it sucked balls, just don't go see it.

But do go see Beasts of the Southern Wild, I still can't get over Quvenzhané Wallis. Wow.

Dark House + Couch + Weed probably made a huge difference. I was a bit put off by the objectification of women, even though the "douchebag dudes" got what was coming to them in the end (the hotel scene was the best part). But I was just bored and impatient with most of the plotlines.

As much as I fear the idea of a new Star Wars film - I can't imagine Disney will destroy the legacy of the original trilogy any more than George Lucas has done already.

I have faith in Disney, their track record regarding acquisitions has been pretty great. The Muppets movie was incredible, plus the Pixar and Marval acquistions have been mostly positive. I think this is definitely a good thing.

Actually the news that George Lucas is officially done fucking with the Star Wars universe made me excited about Star Wars for the first time since 1999. You're looking at a former die-hard, encyclopedia-reading, Ewok-language-learning, novelization-reading Star Wars super-freak here. If Disney wants to do it right, then more power to them.

So has anyone seen Tim Heidecker's The Comedy yet? I watched it last night and was pretty blown away. It's weird and dark and disturbing and even hilarious at times. Definitely one you'll be thinking about long after it ends.

Also, if you're familiar with William Basinski's Disintegration Loops, various cuts of it are played throughout the movie, which was all kinds of awesome.

Also, Gayngs and James Murphy. WIN

I know that KY saw it at a film festival a couple of weeks ago and she said that, in what was an apparently an extremely rare gesture for her, she walked out of it.

Weird things make people walk out of movies sometimes, so that's neither here nor there. I love Tim Heidecker very much and I'm planning on seeing it when I get around to it.
