Just gonna go ahead and follow up FD by saying Children of Men is also one of my most favorite movies. Danny Boyle mastered the scary side of using a film to make me feel so fucking lonely with 28 Days Late; CoM induced that sale lonely feeling except it was eeriely realistic given how society is going. God that movie is beautiful and chilling all at once.

I don't read this thread very often so I missed this one initially, but god damn if it isn't by far the best/most ridiculous of the FDangerfield series.

Finally watched Cabin in the Woods last night....I guess I'm missing something, because it's one of the worst movies I have seen in years. It's not nearly as funny or as clever as it thinks it is.

Maybe it would have been better if I hadn't heard about what a great movie it was and didn't really have any expectations going in? I don't know, that thing sucked.

Womp joins the contrarian club.

I saw The Master last night. Pretty overwhelming. Still processing. Anyone else seen it yet?

I really need to watch Children of Men.

Don't bother yelling at me for not having seen it yet. We've been through that at least three times. I KNOW.

For a lot of years I confused Alfonso Cuaron with Alfonso Arau, who played El Guapo in Three Amigos.

I'm hopefully going to see it tomorrow. I'll probably post something after but I am fairly certain I won't have a lot to say. Based on the reviews and just PTA in general, I'm assuming I'll need to see it a couple times.

Yeah, I need to see it again. Honestly it's sort of hard to grasp with all the ACTING in your face the whole time. Phil Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix's roles were designed for both of those dudes. The acting is shocking and visceral.

Holy Shit HG, Behind the Mask was so great. My roommates and I applauded at the end. I hope all the rest of the those reccommendations are just as good. My local movie store guy knew all of them and exactly where they were located in the store (they have weird shelving categories organized by various factors) without even putting them in the computer when I handed him the list. Dead and Breakfast is next...

Fuck yeah! Pretty great, right?

Another one occurred to me -- you see Black Sheep? Great creature effects from the Weta workshop. Totally sick. Oh shit, and if you haven't seen The Tripper, definitely do that one too. Slasher flick about a dude in a Ronald Reagan mask goin' shitty on a bunch of kids at a music festival in the woods. Directed by David Arquette, and it's got Paul Reubens in it!

More suggestions (told you they'd come to me):

- Rubber: Recent, very low budget, about a sentient tire that has the ability to make people's heads explode. Very strange.

- May: I feel like you have to have seen this one. I hadn't until last year; watched it on recommendation from the Friendly Deester. Having Anna Farris in it would have been enough to sell me, but it was actually very creepy, bloody and funny.

- The early films of Peter Jackson. Also pretty obvious, perhaps, but Bad Taste and ESPECIALLY Dead Alive are among my favorite horror films.

Also watch Slither and Teeth, if you haven't. Honestly I feel like there's a 99% chance you'll have seen anything I can think of, but I'm tryin'.
