Funny thing is, I have more defenders than I need. I don't know why I even went for Letang. I need offensive players with high ATOI. Empty, you're up.

It was more of a hating the fuck out of Ovechkin compounded with never wanting him in the draft (it was an accident that I picked him), a lot more than liking Sharp a lot. However I do like Sharp a lot, and this trade works for me.

I hope Ovechkin stops being a bum, and actually performs for you, because he sure didn't for me.

As for overvaluing/undervaluing... I honestly think people that have never played a rotisserie and are more familiar with traditional hockey pools just look a Goals Assists and Points. This is the first time I have ever been concerned about ATOI, Shots and especially PIM ( PIM is a useless fucking stat). So while you are properly valuing based on all categories, I think we are overvaluing based on the more basic stats.

If we I were to do rotisserie again I would have to ask that PIM be exchanged for blocked shots, it just makes so much more sense.

Yeah, it really bugs me that PIM gets you points, more-so because I'm last in that catagory. It's not a desirable thing in hockey to get a lot of penalties.

wonk, Kesler's ADP would not have been anywhere near 20. I'd wager closer to 40 or 50. For a guy that's only projected to get like 20 points and finish a +3, I thought the offer was fair. I'll look at making another one, but I'm not too sure how much more I'm willing to give up. I'm certainly open to a counter offer though.

I understand. I didn't say it was a bad offer. I didn't think any trade offer was ever bad until I started playing fantasy basketball with Drew's Chode friend. I replied saying that since I have no opinion of these guys I've never heard of, I have to somewhat rely on ADP to see what is what. You offered a 17th rounder and an 18th rounder for who you just said is about a 4th or a 5th rounder, even though I'm guessing he's more of a second rounder (and I realize this is a 12 team league, it's easier dividing ADP by ten, and ten is more standard than 12 when discussing draft results).

I realize Kesler's projections are low, but I know enough about projections to realize the most inaccurate are when it refers to injured guys. Not only are you guessing at their worth, but you're guessing at when they might be healthy, which is much tougher. Based on the SOG projections of the other guys on my team, it looks like Kesler's projections are based on him playing 1/3rd of the season, yet he only missed 1/3rd of the season. Therefore, double his goals/assists/plus-minus, and that is closer to what his projection would be if they knew how many games he would play.

That last paragraph makes a lot of sense. We'll see what happens I suppose.

If anything needs to be replaced, my vote is for ATOI. When I googled it to see what it meant, I ran across several message board comments which basically said, "this is the dumbest fucking stat in the world." I'm used to it now, so it doesn't bother me as much, but great players on great teams get less minutes than decent players on shitty teams, so the how is the stat relevant?

I like penalty minutes being a stat. I thought the lower the better before the draft began, but ya'll started saying it was higher the better. There is something really awesome about reading a comment about how one of your players had a good game because, "he had an assist, and also added a ten minute major!"

I know, it was a joke, thus the ;D

However, the following remains true...

Rusty and I exchanged a couple trade offers, turns out he likes Patrick Sharp a lot, and I like Alex Ovechkin. So we made the trade. Win win for both teams. Our season is now infinitley more interesting because we'll be comparing Ovechkin/Sharp nightly seeing who got the better of the deal.

I like my goalies. Nater said she hated her goalie, and asked for Calgary Flames players to keep her interested, then dislikes my offer of my best goalie and my second best defender (who plays for the Flames). You Canadians confuse me.

If I offered a penis, I think she would have caved.

Yeah, it is interesting to see what people will accept and what they won't.

I generally low ball them, simply so they will respond and give me an idea of what they are thinking.

You are right though, I think trades are the most fun part of any fantasy league. I'd make more trades if I actually possessed some players that anyone was interested in.
