Woohoo! Now we get to watch a terrible Sonics team for another decade while they get their shit together again.

I kid, this is great.

There actually is an old NBA thread you can poop, so you can leave Drew and I alone with our fantasy sob stories here.

I'm in a bit of a funk lately. I've been so far ahead of the next ranked team in every category that I haven't lost a point in about a month, nor will I in the next month outside of the FT% category. I'm getting closer to catching those above me in each category, but gaining points doesn't seem plausible in the next week or two. I'm basically stuck at 39 points, and I just lost three of my staples (Lou Williams/Anderson Varejo are out for the season due to injury, and Kaman doesn't play 20 minutes anymore).

I only have two guys left I drafted, Curry and Rubio, and most normal people would have dropped Rubio by now.

What about you Drew, are you set for a comeback?

In short, no. I started getting assists from Nash, and I've been making up room in the categories that I should have punted, so there's a chance that by the end of the season I'll have gained a few points. But I'm not making any ground in points, rebounds, or percentages, and I'm out of room to grow in blocks. My hope is that Wall gets back into a groove and I can find something impressive on the waiver wire.

Varejao is a back-breaker for you. You can't make up 14 rebounds a game.

Yeah, I was willing to wait a couple months to get Varejo back, since rebounds is one of the categories I can make up the most points in. That hurts, a bruised knee ended his season.

If I can maintain a high FT%, I still have a run left in me. I'm slowly gaining in those other categories, and my games played are still low. Lou Williams finally turned into a badass for a couple weeks before he blew out his knee. He was hitting threes, and started getting assists too. That hurt.

I've been looking to move Curry to fill some holes, but in the end, I want him more than anyone else, so I think the man crush will continue.

Since you're an As fan, are you a Warriors fan?

No, I have a local team, so I'm a Blazers fan. I do find myself watching nearly as many Warriors games as Blazers games because of my Curry man-crush (we discussed this in depth a couple pages ago).

Curry is a fantasy monster, and I only expect him to get better. What I'm finding in my other leagues is that if you don't have Durant or Lebron, you have an infinitesimal chance of winning your league.

Curry not being selected as an All-Star made me lose my shit. Dwight Howard should relenquish his spot.

Oh fuck, I heard the Celtics fear Rondo has a torn ACL. My season is officially over.

Yup, torn ACL, Rondo is out for the season. When I traded Brandon Jennings (and Eric Gordon) to get Rondo, my thinking was Rondo averages 6 more assists per game more than Jennings, so over the final 50 games, that gives me an extra 300 assists. I know the math isn't perfect here because it doesn't account for the other team's pace, but an extra 300 assists puts me third in the category, which is a gain of six points (since I'm second to last).

Since I'm basically a game away from 47 points, an additional six points would put me in the hunt for second place. It's impossible to make up 11 assists per game.

So much for beginners luck. I've lost three guys for the year in the last two weeks, including the NBA's leaders in rebounds and assists. Fuck me.

Varejao and Rondo have ended a lot of team's fantasy hopes early this year. Yours are just totally shit now.

I just inserted Ricky Rubio into my starting PG slot, and I'm going to pretend he's Rondo for the rest of the season. "Shit man, why does Rondo suck so bad?" If I manage to finish in the top four, I'll consider that a win. Seriously, whose wife did I fuck in a previous life to deserve this?

Now Curry leaves the game with a sprained ankle. When it rains, it pours.

OUCH

Grab Jarrett Jack and Boguts, quick. I said that without looking to see if they're owned.
