Speaking of flukes, heading into the final week of the regular season I will have sole possession of 1st place in the Eastern Division. What makes this particularly flukey are the following points:

I've scored the second fewest points in the league (heading into this week);

I started the season 0-3 and then fell to 1-4 through the first five games;

My 2nd round draft pick (Greg Jennings) scored a total of 12 points; and

I have spent all season listening to Mattew Berry's Fantasy Football podcast and reading his love/hate article and have based every roster decision on his recommendations.

Three of my players scoring two negative points and a goose egg as well as going for the "safe" bet at QB, might have contributed to that.

You don't have to post a screen print Drew. No one sucks at fantasy football except the experts, that is what makes it so fun. There are flukes in every league every year, and a couple injuries can ruin your team. I didn't even realize I was second in points heading into this week. I only have one RB and Vick as my QB.

My other league has been a comedy of injuries and underproduction. I've lost by one, I've been the second highest scoring team and lost, and most of my losses are by single digits. This week, I noticed Percy Harvin was a late scratch at 9:57, so I frantically tried to pick up a WR to replace him before ten (because the WRs on my bench were hurt). I got Kenny Britt added in time, but was a couple seconds late getting him in my starting lineup. He scored 8 points, and it looks like I'll lose by single digits again (pending tonight's game I haven't started yet). I'm in last place. The person who is learning the sport of football and was thrown in at the last second to fill the league is in second place. Fantasy football is a humbling game.

Wanna know what fluke comedy is? This is my fantasy team where I'm in first place and up until this week I had a two game lead.

Drew Brees QB - My obvious money maker
Demarco Murray RB - Out most of the season with a sprained foot.
Mikel Leshoure RB - Suspended the first 4 games of the season. Been putting up mediocre numbers since.
Darren Sproles RB - Managed some decent games despite being 1 of 4 RBs on the roster. Then broke his hand
Andre Brown RB - A backup who still managed to put up some ok numbers when my other RB's were injured/on a bye. Oh he just broke his leg.
Andre Johnson WR - Thank God he's turned it up the last few games
Dwayne Bowe WR - Total bust this season, especially with the QB carousel. He's had 2 games over 8 points
DeSean Jackson WR - He has hit over 10 points 3 times this season and I'm pretty sure I had him on the bench for 2 of those 3 games. He got injured tonight.
James Jones WR - A plesant pick up 1/3 into the season. Except for yesterday when I really needed him.
Mike Williams WR - Has had a few good games.
Vernon Davis TE - Started out hot. Has had one game over 4 points since Oct. 7.
Defense - My defense changes every week lol. It has actually worked out quite well.
Add in a bunch of RB flavor of the week to make up for injury that never really panned out.

First place in the league of 9 people, and I'm in 6th place for points scored.

More fluke comedy. It wasn't a typo when I said the person who filled the last spot in my other league was learning football. Football, as in the sport, not fantasy football, the game. This owner was auto drafted, thus ended up with backups at nearly every position on their bench. This owner thought they were required to have a backup at every position, so has held a backup QB, TE, Def, and K all year. This owner recently asked me the difference between a WR and a RB, and was in first place at the time. One of their only losses was to me, the last place team.

Well, my season is over because I forgot to put Ahmad Bradshaw in after his bye week. It's probably for the best, even if I'd played him I would have tied and still missed the playoffs. Rough fantasy year for me...

This is getting pretty exciting. Shax appears to be a lock for the playoffs at this point. If I score 32 tonight (Romo, Bryce Brown, Dez Bryant), I might make the playoffs.

To think I've rested my fantasy season on the shoulders of Michael Vick, now I rest my playoff hopes on the shoulders of Tony Romo. It can't get much worse.

I'm headed for my first win in 6 weeks because of some extremely inconvenient bye weeks. Feels good, but not good enough to get me into the playoffs.

Ahmad Bradshaw, I hate you.

How do the tie breakers work for standings in our league?

Division wins --> Points

or visa versa?

I don't know. I assume tie breakers would be based on total points, but maybe they have some screwey rules about division wins or head to head wins. I guess we'll see tomorrow. I don't feel like reading the rules.

Alright Shax, let's do this. We can't let the general public win the board league.

Agreed.

Although no implication was made, keep in mind I am only the person who started the league. I am not the commissioner. ESPN is. If anyone wants to own the commish title next season, please be my guest.
